Job Title: Software Test Engineer We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to support the calibration, test development, and manufacturing transfer of advanced optical communication modules. This role sits at the intersection of software development and hardware instrumentation, supporting both internal product engineering teams and manufacturing operations. You will develop and maintain test and calibration software used to validate high-volume optical modules that are deployed by major telecom and networking customers.

The role is highly hands‑on, with a strong emphasis on instrument control, test automation, and production‑ready software. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance software used for calibration and testing of optical communication modules. Interface with electrical, optical, and firmware teams to define test requirements and strategies.

Support manufacturing test processes, including troubleshooting and sustaining existing test systems. Work directly with hardware instrumentation such as power meters, power supplies, and network analyzers. Create test solutions that are robust, repeatable, and suitable for high-volume manufacturing environments.

Participate in requirements‑gathering discussions and provide implementation status updates. Collaborate with global software contributors in the U.S., Germany, and Shanghai. Support customer or factory issues by prioritizing and addressing incoming test‑related inquiries.

Essential Skills Experience developing test or calibration software that interfaces with hardware instrumentation. Hands‑on use of electronic test equipment, such as power meters, power supplies, and network analyzers. Programming experience in VB.NET or C# within the Visual Studio environment.

Experience building software integrated into broader systems or production flows. Comfort working close to hardware, including configuring setups, understanding signal paths, and troubleshooting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with Keysight, HP, or Agilent instrumentation.

Experience in test engineering, validation, manufacturing test, or instrumentation software. Exposure to optical, RF, or high-speed digital systems; telecom experience is a plus. Experience supporting products that move from R&D into manufacturing.

Ability to collaborate with global teams across time zones. Work Environment Enjoy the flexibility of working two days a week from home, typically on Monday and Friday. This role offers the opportunity to work in a large, stable, global technology company, making direct, visible contributions to products shipping to major customers.
