We’re partnering with a high-growth, venture-backed retail technology company that’s transforming how major global retailers design and optimise their store layouts.

They’re now hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work at the cutting edge of large-scale optimisation and algorithm design, directly impacting how thousands of physical retail spaces are planned. Responsibilities – Partner directly with enterprise clients to understand complex planning needs and constraints Design and improve large-scale optimisation algorithms for real-world applications Evolve and extend an existing production system using JavaScript and Rust Prototype and introduce AI/ML approaches into optimisation workflows Contribute to solving a highly complex combinatorial optimisation problem Experience – Strong grounding in algorithms and mathematics background Experience building or improving complex system logic or optimisation engines Comfortable in JavaScript and/or Rust (or happy to learn quickly) Confident in client-facing environments – able to extract requirements and challenge assumptions What do you get in return?
