Job Description

About EasyRoutes / Roundtrip.ai Have you ever wondered what actually happens between the time when you make a purchase and a package shows up at your doorstep? It seems like magic but peel back the cover and you’ll discover a whole world of algorithms, geospatial analysis, machine learning, real-time data processing, and artificial intelligence. At Roundtrip.ai we set out to build EasyRoutes to provide businesses with delivery superpowers.

Our mission is to equip the millions of merchants both big and small give their customers that same magical delivery experience we’ve all come to expect. Before starting Roundtrip.ai to make EasyRoutes, our team (formerly at Google, Mozilla, Xtreme Labs/Pivotal Labs) worked on building internet browsers and making apps that are used by billions of people globally. Our Values Customer-first: You can’t build a good product without deeply understanding who your customers are and what they’re trying to accomplish.

Don’t take it from us: read any of our countless 5-star ratings. Bias for action: We value speed. We choose action over deliberation.

We believe in continuous improvement, in shipping often and in iterating upon what we've shipped. Openness and Kindness: We value trust and build it by communicating openly, listening intently, and by acting consistently with kindness. What you'll do / how you'll make an impact: Own the end-to-end design and delivery of features to delight our customers by shipping maintainable code, consistently and reliably.

Operate across the stack building frontend features, designign APIs, and digging into databases. Join and contribute to a culture in a new team preparing for a significant growth where you can focus on shipping. Understand our product, understand our customers.

We believe the best software gets built when there's a shared understanding of what we're building and who we're building for. Help us ship faster by improving our software build / test / integration / deployment tooling for backend, frontend, and mobile platforms. What you'll bring to the table: Minimum 2+ years of full-time experience within a product-centric environment in either a full-stack or backend focused role.

Familiarity with React, TypeScript, React Native, Go, or PostgreSQL so that you can dive right in . You don’t have to be an expert across the board but some full-time experience with any of the above is an asset. Nice to haves include Terraform, Protocol Buffers, gRPC, and Google Cloud Platform experience.

While our infrastructure stays out of your way so you can focus on shipping, some previous experience with these technologies won’t hurt. Passion and experience with building delightful software: you love the craft of building snappy, simple software across each part of the stack that lead to beautiful experiences for the customer. A desire to sleep soundly at night: while we move fast, we move with intention.

You understand the value of writing reliable, testable, and maintainable code and have experience debugging production systems. Experience in a remote-first startup environment , and along with it the ability to move quickly, communicate clearly in different mediums, operate in areas of ambiguity, and make strategic tradeoffs regarding technical debt. A growth mindset: being an early hire at a seed stage start-up means there'll be times you have to solve problems outside your area of expertise.

You'll embrace these moments as opportunities to learn and grow. Ability to travel to Toronto on a monthly basis: while this role is remote, we meet as a team in Toronto every month. Total rewards and benefits: Competitive salary and equity in a seed stage start-up - we are backed by leading institutional and angel investors.

Comprehensive health benefits. Joining our growing team, you have an incredible opportunity to help build a culture that values craft and learning from the ground floor.
