Job Overview Software Engineer Manager responsible for overseeing application development for a large or complex department, ensuring the application portfolio meets current business requirements and is operational, stable, reliable, and technically mature. Locations: Birmingham, AL; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC. Onsite required (three or more days a week).
Primary Responsibilities Manage all aspects of system design, development, deployment, acquisition, and ongoing maintenance for application systems within responsibility areas. Serve as primary technology contact for senior management, developing solutions that increase internal business efficiency and support business opportunities. Create and refine operational processes and systems to ensure regulatory and audit compliance.
Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements and ensure interface compatibility. Support planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements through management processes.
Partner across Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data (TODD) to strengthen risk management, compliance, and cyber security controls. Ensure disciplined change management by evaluating risk and control impacts for process, system, product, or service changes. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 8 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
Preferred Skills & Experience Experience in a technology role within banking or financial services industry. Skills and Competencies Ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and conceptual skills. Strong organizational skills. Understanding of applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance.
