Software Engineer - IT Early Career Development Program Block 23 What You'll Do As a Software Engineer within the IT Career Development Program, you will participate in a twelve-month rotational program designed to provide broad exposure to multiple IT functions, including cybersecurity, asset management, enterprise architecture, desktop support, and network/application engineering. In this role, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting IT initiatives that drive business outcomes, while receiving mentorship from experienced professionals and participating in structured job shadowing opportunities. This development-focused program is designed to build foundational technical, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities, as well as adaptability and collaboration skills in a professional environment.

Upon successful completion of the program, placement within an IT team will be determined based on business needs, performance, and individual interests. Collaborate with IT teams on development, analytics, and automation initiatives. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables.

Support testing, documentation, and deployment of software solutions. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team meetings. Present project updates and rotation insights to peers and leadership.

Review existing IT systems and processes; collect and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement. Participate in solution design discussions, including custom applications, SaaS platforms, and middleware integrations. Assist in building internal tools or prototypes using technologies such as .NET, Python, SQL, and Azure.

Participate in rotational assignments across multiple engineering teams to gain exposure to diverse technologies and business functions. Support day‑to‑day engineering tasks including analysis, development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting. What You'll Need Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 0–2 years of relevant experience in software development, IT, or a related field (which may include academic projects, internships, or hands‑on training).

Foundational experience with programming languages or technologies such as .NET, Python, SQL, or similar. Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) or engineering workflows. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.

Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to code repositories and CI/CD pipelines through coursework, projects, or internships.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft products such as Office 365 and SharePoint. Demonstrated leadership or participation in academic, professional, or community organizations. Foundational knowledge of banking operations or financial services industry practices.
