Job Requisition ID #25WD94232Software Development Manager, Platform EngineeringCloud Infrastructure Engineering | COO GET EngineeringAbout the RoleWe’re growing our Cloud Infrastructure Engineering capability within the COO GET Engineering organization and are looking for an Engineering Manager who balances platform engineering expertise with application delivery leadership.In this role, you’ll lead a team of Platform and DevOps engineers while partnering closely with Product, Design, Security, and Engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and developer-friendly solutions. Approximately 60% of the role focuses on delivery ownership for business applications, while the remaining 40% focuses on evolving internal CI/CD platforms, observability, and paved-road developer experiences.This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you’ll help shape technical direction, mentor engineers, remove blockers, and drive operational excellence across modern cloud infrastructure environments.We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences who are passionate about building inclusive teams, scalable systems, and impactful technology.What You’ll DoPeople & Delivery LeadershipLead, mentor, and support the growth of a high-performing Platform/DevOps engineering teamFoster an inclusive, collaborative, and psychologically safe team cultureOwn delivery for one or more business applications, including roadmap execution, release planning, risk management, and operational excellenceEstablish and improve SLOs, SLIs, on-call practices, incident response processes, and postmortem culturePartner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Security, and Engineering stakeholders to align priorities and communicate progress clearlyPlatform Engineering & Developer ExperienceOperate and evolve Kubernetes/EKS environments across multi-AZ and multi-region architecturesDrive GitOps and CI/CD best practices using tools such as Argo CD, Flux, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CodeBuild, and CodeDeployBuild paved roads, templates, and reusable developer workflows that improve engineering productivity and reduce complexitySupport infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform and AWS CDKReliability, Security & ObservabilityImprove observability and operational visibility across logs, metrics, tracing, and synthetic monitoringCollaborate with Security and Compliance teams to implement secure-by-default infrastructure practicesHelp optimize cloud cost efficiency, scalability, reliability, and performance across AWS and Kubernetes ecosystemsPromote a culture of continuous improvement, resilience engineering, and operational ownershipMinimum Qualifications3+ years of people leadership experience managing and developing engineers7+ years of engineering experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, or related areasExperience delivering and operating business-critical applications in AWS environmentsStrong experience with AWS services including EKS, EC2, VPC networking, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudWatchExperience with Kubernetes operations, Helm, autoscaling, and infrastructure security practicesExperience building CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflowsStrong understanding of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or AWS CDKProgramming experience in Python, Java, TypeScript, or Node.jsFamiliarity with SRE practices, including incident management, SLIs/SLOs, and operational excellenceStrong communication and stakeholder partnership skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience building or operating Internal Developer Platforms and self-service engineering workflowsFamiliarity with service meshes, policy engines, secrets management, and platform governanceExperience supporting multi-region architectures and resilience engineering initiativesKnowledge of observability platforms, distributed tracing, and synthetic monitoring strategiesExperience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka, Kinesis, SNS, or SQSFamiliarity with SOX, SOC2, compliance frameworks, and FinOps practicesLearn MoreAbout AutodeskWelcome to Autodesk! For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $140,000 and $205,700. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
