The Creative X org within Amazon Advertising aims to democratize access to highâquality creative assets, including copy, images and video, by building and productizing generative AIâdriven tools for advertisers.
We are investing in latentâdiffusion and DiT models, LLMs, computer vision, reinforcement learning, and image + video synthesis. The solutions we develop will be deployed for use by selfâservice advertisers and agencies, as well as available to premium brands that advertise on Amazon. We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer who is adept at a variety of skills that enable the productization of generative AI experiences for advertising at scale.
Every member of the team is expected to build customerâfacing features, contribute to the collaborative spirit within the team, productize, deploy at scale, and bring innovative productionâgrade experiences to raise the bar within the team. The ideal candidate combines solid fullâstack coding expertise with an understanding of AI agent concepts including context management, memory systems, and how Large Language Models (LLMs) work. You must be passionate about quality, consistency, maintainability, performance, and security.
Youâll need to be a fast learner who stays current with rapidly evolving AI technologies, comfortable with ambiguity, and willing to challenge the status quo. This position requires collaboration with software engineers, product managers, technical program managers, and partner teams across Amazon Advertising. Key Job Responsibilities Solve technical challenges and act as a mentor to other junior engineers.
Translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. Invent new features, design, develop and deploy highly scalable and reliable distributed services. Work with a variety of core languages (primarily Java and Python) and technologies (AWS).
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers and Applied Scientists. Basic Qualifications Bachelorâs degree or equivalent. 3+ years of nonâinternship professional software development experience. 2+ years of nonâinternship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems. Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers. Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Bachelorâs degree in computer science or equivalent. Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence. Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, focusing on reliability and scaling.
