C++ Software Engineer

Have you ever wondered how a mission critical system that is used by more than 125 airlines to check in 800 million passengers each year is made ultra-resilient to failures? We are looking for an enthusiastic C++ Software Engineer to work on our world leading airline passenger servicing system based at our London Heathrow development centre.

\n

About the Team and the Role

\n You will join an established team that is developing and maintaining the software to allow airlines to continue operating even after catastrophic system failures.

\n

Within Amadeus, the Active/Standby team works closely with teams across multiple sites (London, Nice, Bangalore, Sydney, Erding), applications and groups (R&D, Global Operations). As a Software Development Engineer, you will be accountable for the technical design, development and delivery of the product functionalities based on the solutions agreed with stakeholders.

\n

What you’ll be doing

\n

You will be working on software engineering problems that are unique to large scale, mission critical applications and work in close collaboration with Business Analysts and QA during the different phases of a project, using either a Waterfall or Agile (Scrum) approach depending on the profile of the client and the project.

\n

As a Software Development Engineer, you will be accountable for the technical design and delivery of the product functionalities based on the solutions agreed with the stakeholders (Business Analysts, Product Managers, and the customer themselves), with a strong emphasis on non-functional requirements (performance and reliability in particular) due to the mission critical nature of the Departure Control System application requiring 24x7 availability.

\n

You’ll have the following technical skills & experiences:

\n

· A degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
\n · C++
\n · Unix
\n · Oracle
\n · MongoDB

\n

It’ll be a bonus if you have:

\n · Experience with Python, Java and/or Scala
\n · Knowledge of Agile methodologies
\n · Amadeus product knowledge

Education:

·                Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
