Software Developer

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Software Developer for a 23-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer. Work Location Remote (occasional in-person meetings at one of HQ’s in Ottawa) Security Requirement Must be eligible for a Government of Canada Enhanced Reliability Clearance. Key Tasks Design and develop software solutions based on defined technical and business requirements Translate requirements into detailed technical designs and implementation plans Develop and execute unit tests and automated test scripts to ensure code reliability Conduct full system integration testing to validate end-to-end functionality Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify dependencies, constraints, and integration points Document development work and ensure effective knowledge transfer at project handoff Key Qualifications Strong background in full software development lifecycle (design, coding, testing, integration) Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, DevOps, Kanban, or XP) Qualifications Experience with Python for backend or scripting tasks Solid understanding of software integration, configuration management, and testing practices Working knowledge of Docker and Linux-based environments Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration Strong CSS (v3) skills for responsive and user-friendly UI development Assets Experience building mobile-friendly or responsive web applications Familiarity with mapping technologies and real-time data visualization (e.g., geospatial overlays) Experience developing mobile applications for iOS and/or Android Hourly Rate Negotiable LeverageTek is an equal opportunity employer.
