Role Overview
Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer with deep expertise in .Net, with expertise in Azure DevOps, and SQL to join our Application and Integrations team in the Finlogik Group. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure applications, with significant experience integrating with third‑party APIs and financial platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs.
- Prototype, evaluate, and test AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) and help integrate them into developer workflows.
- Stay current on and recommend improvements in cloud tooling, AI/automation platforms, developer productivity, code scanning/security tooling.
- Support, debug, and modernize legacy applications; participate in migrations to the latest .NET/Angular.
- Write clean, maintainable code with unit/integration tests; participate in code reviews and use Git‑based workflows.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines; respond to code scanning results and adopt secure coding practices.
- Work with Azure services for hosting, storage, identity, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and compliance partners; break down requirements, document simple designs, and deliver increments in an agile process.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional back‑end development with deep expertise in: C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core, RESTful Web APIs, Entity Framework Core).
- Familiarity with: Core CS concepts (OOP, data structures, algorithms).
- REST/HTTP, JSON, serialization.
- Git, branching, pull requests, code reviews.
- Writing and running unit tests (xUnit).
- SQL and data access ORMs.
- Solid understanding of Azure DevOps for CI/CD, build/release pipelines, and source control (Git).
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Angular (TypeScript): components, services, routing, forms, basic RxJS.
- Azure cloud: Functions, App Service, Storage (Queues/Blobs/Tables), Key Vault, Application Insights, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- AI/automation: familiarity with LLMs and developer AI tools (e.g., Claude, OpenAI), prompt design, data pipelines, SDK/API integration.
- Secure coding and compliance awareness (static analysis, code scanning, secrets management, auth flows like OAuth/OpenID Connect).
- Messaging/async processing patterns (queues, pub/sub) and event‑driven design.
- Exposure to financial systems or back‑office operations.
Responsibilities (French)
- Développer et maintenir des applications back end, services et des API.
- Soutenir, déboguer et moderniser les applications existantes; participer aux migrations vers les versions les plus récentes de .NET.

- Créer et maintenir des pipelines CI/CD; répondre aux résultats d’analyse du code et adopter des pratiques de codage sécurisées.
- Travailler avec les services Azure pour l’hébergement, le stockage, l’identité et la surveillance.
- Collaborer avec les équipes produit, opérations et conformité; découper les exigences, documenter des conceptions simples et livrer des incréments dans le cadre d’un processus agile.
Qualifications clés (French)
- Baccalauréat en informatique, en génie ou dans un domaine connexe, ou expérience équivalente.
- Plus de 5 ans d’expérience professionnelle en développement back end, avec une expertise approfondie en : C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core, API Web RESTful, Entity Framework Core).
- Connaissance des éléments suivants : Concepts fondamentaux de l’informatique (POO, structures de données, algorithmes).
- REST/HTTP, JSON, sérialisation.
- Git, branches, demandes de tirage, revues de code.
- Rédaction et exécution de tests unitaires (xUnit).
