Working closely with trading and technology teams, you will develop the systems that power electronic trading operations and contribute directly to the firm's continued growth.

The Role

As a C++ Software Engineer, you will design, build, and optimise mission-critical trading infrastructure where performance, reliability, and scalability are paramount.

You will work on low-latency systems responsible for market connectivity, order execution, and market data processing, partnering directly with traders and quantitative professionals to turn complex models into highly efficient production software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ultra-low-latency trading systems in modern C++
• Build and maintain execution engines where microsecond performance matters
• Develop high-throughput market data feed handlers capable of processing large volumes of real-time market data
• Partner closely with quantitative traders to implement pricing and trading models
• Analyse system bottlenecks and continuously improve latency, throughput, and reliability
• Own software throughout the full development lifecycle from design through deployment
• Work extensively within Linux-based production environments
• Contribute to architecture decisions as the Amsterdam technology team continues to grow

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional C++ development experience
• Strong Linux systems programming experience
• Solid understanding of:
  • Concurrency
  • Multi-threading
  • Memory management
  • Data structures and algorithms
  • Software architecture and design patterns
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
