Software Developer (C++ / Python)

Obsidian Capital is a quantitative trading firm building algorithmic systems for financial markets. We use proprietary technology, quantitative models, and low-latency infrastructure to trade actively and respond quickly to market dynamics. We are hiring a Software Developer to build and maintain the systems our traders and quantitative researchers use every day.

This is a hands-on role on a small team where you will write performance-critical code in C++ and Python and own features from design through production. Tasks In this role, you will work on the core software and internal tools that support trading, research, execution, and infrastructure. The work is practical, fast-moving, and directly tied to business outcomes.

Typical responsibilities include: - Design, develop, test, and maintain components of our trading and research platform - Write low-latency, high-throughput code in C++ and Python - Build internal tools and infrastructure used directly by traders and quant researchers - Diagnose and resolve issues in live production trading systems - Profile, benchmark, and optimize performance-critical code paths - Collaborate closely with traders, researchers, and engineers to deliver production systems Requirements We are looking for candidates with: 3 to 5 years of professional experience building production software systems Strong proficiency in C++ and Python Hands-on experience with multithreading and multiprocessing Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design Comfort working in Linux environments Genuine interest in financial markets and algorithmic trading Preferred: Experience building latency-sensitive or systems-level applications Exposure to network programming, sockets, or kernel-bypass stacks Prior work in quantitative finance, trading, or market data systems Contributions to open-source systems projects Benefits - Competitive compensation of ₹24-36 LPA based on experience - Year-end performance-linked bonus - Direct ownership of high-impact work in a small, focused team - Exposure to the full stack of a proprietary trading business: research, execution, risk, and infrastructure - Close collaboration with traders, researchers, and engineers If you enjoy building high-performance systems and want your work to have immediate real-world impact, we would like to hear from you.
