Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Administrator to manage, secure, optimize, and support our Snowflake data platform. This role will partner with data engineering, analytics, security, and application teams to ensure a reliable, scalable, and cost-effective environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Snowflake administration, role-based access control, performance tuning, monitoring, data security, and cloud data warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer Snowflake accounts, databases, schemas, warehouses, users, roles, and privileges.
  • Implement and maintain role-based access controls, least-privilege access, and security policies.
  • Monitor Snowflake usage, performance, storage, and credit consumption.
  • Optimize virtual warehouses, queries, workloads, and resource utilization.
  • Configure and manage integrations with cloud platforms, ETL tools, BI tools, and data pipelines.
  • Support data loading, replication, cloning, time travel, fail-safe, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, auditing, and operational procedures.
  • Troubleshoot access, performance, connectivity, and data processing issues.
  • Partner with data engineers and analysts to support development, testing, and production environments.
  • Assist with Snowflake upgrades, releases, migrations, and environment refreshes.
  • Develop and maintain administrative documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
  • Promote automation using SQL, Python, Terraform, or other approved tools.
  • Support compliance, governance, and audit requirements related to the data platform.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience administering Snowflake in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture, security, RBAC, warehouses, databases, schemas, and resource monitors.
  • Experience with SQL and Snowflake performance optimization.
  • Experience managing users, roles, grants, authentication, and access governance.
  • Knowledge of data loading and integration patterns using tools such as Fivetran, Informatica, dbt, Matillion, or similar.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, incident management, and production support processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SnowPro Core or Snowflake Administrator certification.
  • Experience with Terraform, Git, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Python or scripting experience for administrative automation.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake governance, masking policies, row access policies, tagging, and sensitive-data controls.
  • Experience with Snowflake replication, failover/failback, and disaster recovery.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Airflow, dbt, or cloud-native services.
  • Experience supporting regulated or highly controlled environments.

  • Timely resolution of access, performance, and data platform issues.
  • Effective control of Snowflake compute and storage costs.
  • Consistent application of security and governance standards.
  • Well-documented administrative processes and operational runbooks.
