Location: Auburn, NSW
Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)
Salary: $120K + Salary Package

Auburn Meals on Wheels is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Service Manager to lead our dedicated team, support our incredible volunteers, and drive the ongoing success of our trusted and much-loved local service.

About Us

For over 60 years, Auburn Meals on Wheels has been more than just a meal delivery service. We promote wellbeing, independence, and dignity by providing nutritious meals and meaningful social connections to seniors and vulnerable people in our community.

In addition to home-delivered meals, we also provide Social Support and Centre-Based Meals for Arabic, Chinese, and English-speaking groups, creating important opportunities for cultural connection and community engagement.

Your Role

Reporting to the Board of Management, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the service – from staff and volunteer management, compliance, and financial oversight, through to strategic planning, funding, and community engagement.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where no two days are the same, and your contribution truly matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and operational management
  • Oversee staff and volunteer coordination, recruitment, and supervision
  • Ensure compliance with the Aged Care Act and other relevant standards
  • Manage budgets, funding acquittals, and financial reporting
  • Support marketing, communications, and community partnerships
  • Lead quality improvement and service development initiatives
  • Report regularly to the Board and contribute to strategic planning
What You’ll Bring
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in community services, aged care, social work, or management
  • Proven experience leading teams in a community or not-for-profit setting
  • Strong financial, governance, and compliance management skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Good skills in Microsoft Office and MYOB
  • Knowledge of the 2024 Aged Care Act and CHSP Service
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusive service delivery
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Check
Highly Desirable:
  • Familiar with Food Safety Program
  • Experience working with Boards
