The Server's primary role is to offer warm hospitality and excellent service to our guests. The Server takes overarching responsibility for the guest experience, ensuring guests are well taken care of and leave with an outstanding impression of Daily Chew.
- Responsibilities:
- Provide welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable service to all guests.
- Uphold high standards of hospitality and build positive relationships with regulars.
- Be knowledgeable of food and beverage menus to properly guide guests through their dining experience.
- Collaborate with FOH and BOH team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Communicate clearly with team members and proactively solve guest concerns or service issues, involving MOD as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, storage areas, and shared FOH/BOH spaces.
- Prepare the store for daily service, including full station and patio setup and breakdown.
- Complete daily side work tasks, including general opening and closing duties.
- Restock the pastry case, coffee bar, alcohol bar, and FOH reach-in at the beginning and end of every shift; communicate any needs or issues to the Chef.
- Monitor quality of all FOH products and ensure standards are met throughout the day.
- Communicate 86s to the Chef and GM immediately to ensure menus and systems are updated in real-time.
- Submit the daily baked goods log to the baker or chef at end of shift.
- Complete the end-of-shift Slack log daily with accuracy and detail.
- Stay informed about all menu changes, new products, and daily specials; guide guests confidently through the menu.
- Complete opening and closing checklists/sidework consistently for each shift.
- Offer informed recommendations to guests, including pastries, breads, and daily specials.
- Assist guests with allergies or dietary restrictions by communicating accommodations clearly and accurately.
- Participate in pre-shift line-ups and maintain working knowledge of service updates and events.
