About The Team Supporting the North American Engineering & Construction team, you will join a group of experienced underwriters focused on profit-oriented underwriting for large and middle-market construction projects. About The Role Support the team’s profitability by developing the U.S.

E&C portfolio and meeting financial goals, thereby expanding Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ footprint. Underwrite construction risks in accordance with Swiss Re’s processes, procedures, business philosophy and appetite for nationwide large and midsize construction projects across a wide range of occupancies: power, renewable energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, building, and heavy civil works. Identify client needs and growth opportunities, creating tailor‑made solutions in partnership with clients and brokers.

Make an active contribution to the Swiss Re Global Engineering community through knowledge sharing, training, special projects, and research. Maintain underwriting documentation, ensure high data quality in the underwriting system, and follow up on post‑bound activities such as endorsements, premium payments, claim data, and filings. Support the growth of associated lines of business by cross‑selling Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ capabilities and collaborating with colleagues across the organization.

About You University degree in Science or Engineering. 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Underwriting Engineering & Construction. Excellent understanding of the U.S. insurance market and an established network of Engineering and Construction brokers. Comfortable working both collaboratively in a team environment and independently.

Can‑do attitude, creative approach, and ability to thrive in a fluid, dynamic area. Strong analytical skills. Availability for travel within the United States.

Fluency in English. Compensation The estimated base salary range for the Senior Underwriter is $168,000 to $252,000 in New York City and $160,000 to $240,000 in Chicago, Alpharetta, and Houston. Compensation will consider location, role scope, qualifications, experience, education, and budget.
