Job Summary

  • The Senior TMS Architect will lead the architecture, design, and transformation of complex Transport Management Systems
  • from the ground up, shaping scalable transportation platforms that support planning, execution, visibility, freight settlement,
  • carrier connectivity, and WW enterprise logistics integration. This role requires deep expertise in TMS solution architecture,
  • experience working with vendor TMS products as an integration engineer, and the ability to apply industry-standard practices
  • to drive large-scale transformation initiatives. This person will act as thought leader across business, engineering, vendors,
  • and implementation partners, driving solution design, integration strategy, modernization roadmap, and delivery governance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of enterprise-grade TMS platforms from scratch, covering domain
  • boundaries, canonical models, integration patterns, deployment topology, and NF architecture requirements.
  • Drive TMS transformation initiatives including current-state assessment, target architecture, phased modernization
  • roadmap, migration strategy, and transition governance.
  • Define target-state TMS architecture aligned to business capability maps, enterprise architecture principles, and
  • transportation industry best practices integrating with inter-continental carriers ensuring on-time delivery with countryspecific legal and tax compliance.
  • Work closely with vendor TMS products and implementation partners as a hands-on integration architect, ensuring the
  • product landscape is configured and extended to meet enterprise process and data requirements.
  • Design microservices-based and event-driven enterprise architecture patterns for transportation workflows, enabling
  • loose coupling, scalability, resilience, and eventual consistency across business services.
  • Establish event models, integration contracts, API standards, and messaging patterns for shipment lifecycle events,
  • carrier updates, execution status, exceptions, invoicing, and operational visibility.

  • transportation systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with API-led integration, asynchronous messaging, event brokers, schema/version
  • management, and integration security.
  • Key Skills
  • Area Required Capability
  • TMS architecture Designed greenfield TMS solutions, defined target architecture and domain models.
  • Vendor integration Worked deeply with vendor TMS product partners, not just custom-built platforms.
  • Enterprise integration Integrated TMS with ERP, WMS, OMS, carriers, 3PLs, and external logistics systems.
  • Microservices Designed service decomposition, API-first contracts, resilient-scalable distributed services.
  • Event-driven architecture Built asynchronous workflows using Kafka, queues, streams, or similar event platforms.
