Senior Test Engineer

Job Title: Senior Test Engineer. Department: Technology. Job Profile: Senior C15.

Job Purpose: As a Senior Test Engineer at Bupa Technology, you will drive the quality engineering strategy across crews/program level, ensuring the delivery of Bupa releases on time. Leveraging technical expertise and leadership capabilities, you will define and implement test strategies, automation practices, and mentor team members to uplift testing maturity. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify risks early and optimize testing frameworks.

Responsibilities: Ensure BUPA testing standards and processes has been followed throughout the delivery of the project. Advocate and implement approved quality testing practices, demonstrate that the software application meets the Business & Functional requirements and is fit for purpose. Collaborate closely with Multiple squads or project to define, execute, document, and maintain test cases and test automation.

Enable the project QE engineers, manage end to end testing delivery. Ensure that, test cases and automation scripts reviewed by required stakeholders. Worked with different products teams for SIT and ensure quality across the business workflows.

Provide estimates, planning, and execution of testing deliverables of defined scope. Enable First mindset. Produce the testing artifacts such as test plan, test reports, etc based on defined scope and deliverables.

Define Test Strategy and co-ordinations with teams. Collaborate with Stakeholders on regular testing activities for squad or for entire project/product. Take ownership of sending various project update reports such as DSR, WSR etc.

Contributes to the collection of evidence and the conduct of formal audits or reviews of activities. Mentor and guide junior resources for various activities such as removing impediments, Bupa testing processes, skill upliftment etc. Ensure defects quality and bring them to closure in a timely manner and conduct defect triage meetings.

Liaise with Business Analysts, Developers, and SMEs to understand the requirements / user stories and identify gaps very early on in the Software Development Lifecycle, and thus, adding value. Design, execute and maintain UI, API, Mobile Automation scripts. Conduct code reviews on regular basis to ensure the code quality.

Enhance the test automation framework if require for testing deliverables. Optimized, execute and maintain the automation regression testing across various test environments to support the release management process and health check of test environments. Ensure that test environment requirements are clearly defined.

Also, all test environments are managed effectively and are kept up to date with code base. Create CI-CD pipelines, and execute and maintain the API, UI based test automation packs on ADO CI-CD pipelines. Debug and fix the scripts based on changed requirements and optimized the scripts.

You may also carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Bupa from time to time. Qualifications, Training and Experience: Qualifications and Trainings: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. Prior experience working in an agile development environment or strong knowledge of agile development processes.

Technical Skills: Expert in writing UI, API, and mobile automation scripts, reusable components, and framework modules like Playwright or Selenium (C# preferred). Strong experience in test automation - Appium is mandatory. Automation experience on Windows-based applications (desired).

Experience in various testing types: functional, UI, API, and database testing. Experience in different testing phases such as System Testing (ST), System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), test management tools, test automation, and CI/CD tools.

Intermediate SQL skills, with the ability to write and execute SQL queries for database verification. Experience in contract testing, AI tools, and service virtualization (added advantage). Experience working in large-scale and complex environments (must-have).

Soft Skills: Strong planning, organization, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Comfortable working in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments.

Leadership & Collaboration Skills: Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones (onsite/offshore), including outsourced third parties and in-house teams. Ability to collaborate effectively within and outside the organization. Proactive in contributing to team success and driving quality initiatives.

Report issues, incidents and complaints in a timely manner. Understand the laws, regulations, policies and proceduresthat apply and ensure controls enabling compliance are built into documented processes and procedures.
