Senior Sustation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Substation Engineer to support high‑profile, customer‑driven infrastructure projects across the state, including the development of new data centers for major global technology companies. About the Role In this role, you will lead substation engineering efforts from preliminary design through construction release. You will work closely with Project Managers, EPC partners, and external consultants to deliver reliable, high‑voltage substation infrastructure that supports Nevada's rapidly growing energy demand.

Key Responsibilities Provide substation engineering design services from early conceptual design through construction release. Develop cost estimates and substation infrastructure plans. Create relay design recommendations and general arrangement (GA) layouts.

Collaborate with consultants to develop Scopes of Work (SOWs) and support EPC bidding. Participate in project meetings and coordinate with Project Managers. Review engineering prints, design packages, and construction documentation.

Responsible for procurement, including ordering all materials required for substation builds. Required Qualifications 6+ years of utility engineering experience in substation design. Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license REQUIRED.

Canadian P.Eng accepted. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2019 or later. Strong technical background in: System protection and physical substation layout Electrical diagrams and substation components 345 kV systems (some exposure to 500 kV preferred) High‑voltage agreements for data centers Substation configurations such as ring bus and breaker‑and‑a‑half Experience with distribution systems or maintenance transfer configurations is a plus.
