Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team, focusing on and involving the assessment, modification, expansion, and retrofitting of existing industrial, commercial, or infrastructure facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing detailed structural analysis, developing repair and strengthening solutions, ensuring the structural integrity and safety of existing assets, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes within operational environments. Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Assessment and Analysis Conduct detailed structural assessments, investigations, and condition surveys of existing industrial, commercial, and infrastructure facilities.

Perform structural analysis to evaluate the adequacy, stability, and serviceability of existing structures for current and proposed loading conditions. Assess the impact of modifications, equipment additions, change of occupancy, and facility expansions on structural performance. Repair, Strengthening, and Retrofit Design Develop practical and cost-effective repair, rehabilitation, strengthening, and retrofitting solutions for existing structures.

Prepare and review structural calculations, design reports, specifications, and engineering recommendations. Design structural modifications and extensions while ensuring compatibility with existing structural systems. Project Execution and Technical Support Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions, collect field data, and support project implementation.

Provide technical guidance during construction, repair, and strengthening activities. Review contractor submissions, method statements, material specifications, and shop drawings related to structural works. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and safety regulations.

Team Leadership and Design Management Lead and coordinate a team of structural engineers and drafting personnel in the execution of assessment, design, and retrofit projects. Allocate project tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Mentor and train junior engineers and draftsmen to enhance technical competency and professional development.

Conduct technical reviews and provide engineering guidance to resolve complex structural challenges. Design Review and Quality Assurance Review and approve structural calculations, analysis models, reports, drawings, and other engineering deliverables prepared by team members. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all structural designs with relevant codes, standards, and company quality procedures.

Implement quality control measures and participate in internal design audits and peer reviews. Verify that all issued documents meet the required technical and presentation standards. Client and Multidisciplinary Coordination Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP consultants, project managers, contractors, and clients to develop integrated engineering solutions.

Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and project review sessions. Present engineering findings, design recommendations, and project progress updates to stakeholders. Project Delivery and Business Support Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource utilization for assigned projects.

Support proposal preparation, technical bid evaluations, and estimation of engineering efforts where required. Contribute to the development of company standards, design methodologies, and best practices related to structural assessment and rehabilitation works. Key Accountability Areas Technical accuracy of structural assessments and designs.

Quality and timely delivery of project documentation. Effective leadership and development of engineering team members. Compliance with applicable codes, safety requirements, and quality management systems.

Successful execution of retrofit, strengthening, and modification projects within operational facilities. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS General Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering (or Civil Engineering with Structural expertise/experience). 7-10 years professional experience in commercial, warehouse, and/or industrial new design and remediation with working knowledge of structural engineering conventional practices. 7-10 years of professional experience with building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC, ASCE & All Indian codes. Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction structural drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

Ability and willingness to travel internationally/domestically with short notice. Speaking Hindi would be an added advantage. Possess excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of structural mechanics, dynamics, and material science (steel, concrete, etc.). Proficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA-3D, ETABS). Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for reviewing and potentially preparing drawings.

In-depth knowledge of relevant building codes and standards. Experience with structural assessment techniques and methodologies. Experience with seismic assessment and retrofitting of existing structures.

Experience related to demolition planning and temporary works design. Understanding of foundation systems and soil-structure interaction, particularly in relation to existing structures.
