Senior Software Engineer, Platform Engineering

Job Summary We are looking for senior Platform Engineers to build internal APIs, services, developer tooling, CI/CD frameworks, and Kubernetes abstractions that serve engineering teams across the organization. Your primary focus will be on writing production quality code, designing and maintaining platform services, and improving developer experience. Remote / Hybrid Expectations For Remote Roles : Requires occasional in‑office events at Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City for onboarding, team meetings, and other in‑person gatherings.

For Hybrid Roles : Must reside within commutable distance to the specified office and attend weekly/bi‑weekly or monthly in‑office events. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain platform services, APIs, SDKs, and internal tools used by engineering teams Own platform services end‑to‑end, from design through production operation and continuous improvement, writing high‑quality, testable code Design and improve CI/CD workflows and developer automation, emphasizing usability and efficiency Apply distributed systems and backend engineering principles to create scalable, resilient services and APIs Own production of the services and tools, including observability, debugging, and incident response Qualifications & Skills Minimum Expert proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js building production‑grade APIs, services, and developer tools, with automated testing (unit, integration, E2E) Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, API design, and production backend services, with ability to make trade‑offs across scalability, reliability, and developer experience Proficiency with observability (metrics, logging, distributed tracing, SLI/SLO frameworks) and production ownership, including incident response and post‑mortems Strong experience with Kubernetes, including building abstractions and custom controllers/operators Strong proficiency designing and building CI/CD pipelines optimized for security, compliance, and developer experience Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi), GitOps, and cloud‑native environments Excellent communication, influence, and documentation skills for platform pattern adoption and ADR runbooks Preferred Experience building internal developer platforms or platform‑as‑a‑product initiatives (developer portals, self‑service tooling) Experience integrating AI/ML (LLM APIs, intelligent automation, AI‑assisted tooling, agentic patterns) Proficiency in cloud security practices (IAM, secrets, encryption), compliance tooling (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST), or cost optimization (FinOps) Benefits Retirement Plan Matching Flexible Paid Time Off Wellness Support Programs and Resources Parental & Caregiver Leaves Fertility & Adoption Support Continuous Development Support Program Employee Assistance Program Allyship and Inclusion Communities Employee Recognition and more Equal Employment Opportunity PointClickCare is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from people with disabilities.
