The Investments Technology team is responsible for building and integrating investments data and capabilities that support our strategic goals and drive competitive advantage in the marketplace. Your Role As a Senior Engineer on the Investment Technology team, you will play an important role in building and supporting internal technology platforms and enterprise services.
Youâll participate in crossâfunctional initiatives, work closely with other engineering team members, and ensure delivery of scalable, secure, and developerâfriendly solutions that align with Invescoâs enterprise vision. This role requires strong technical depth, strategic vision, and a dedication to fostering engineering excellence and scalable AIâenabled software development. You will demonstrate a willingness to explore and contribute to new and exciting initiatives, while maintaining accountability for foundational engineering work that ensures platform stability, scalability, and longâterm success.
Responsibilities of the Role Implement the architectural and business functional vision for internal applications, platform, and enterprise services. Design and implement processes, applications, and services for the Investment Technology business domain, according to business requirements. Collaborate with enterprise architecture, product, infrastructure, and security teams to align platform capabilities with enterprise goals.
Build AWS cloudâbased solutions, utilizing cloud services according to best practices. Apply DevSecOps practices and CI/CD maturity using tools such as Git, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, and Artifactory. Implement systems integrations, applying integration patterns and using APIs and data integration tools.
Leverage industryâleading AI capabilities to streamline software development while fostering an AIâfirst approach across the team. Work in Agile team and be fluent with project and repository management tools such as Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket). Support automation and selfâservice engineering across the organization.
Mentor teamâs engineers and lead by example in applying best practices and execution excellence. Promote a collaborative and engaging culture across global teams. Requirements of the Role At least 8+ years of professional fullâstack software development experience.
Expert understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Deep expertise in objectâoriented programming using Java. Proven handsâon experience in building cloudâbased software solutions on AWS.
Experience with cloudâbased database platforms (Snowflake, Postgres, Athena, SQL Server). Knowledge and handsâon experience working with cloud services (EKS, S3, Airflow, IAM, Lambda). Experience with industryâstandard AI frameworks and tooling, including NLP models, vectorization/embedding techniques, LangChain, Amazon Bedrock, and OpenAI APIs, to build scalable intelligent applications is a plus.
Advanced UI development experience, using JS frameworks such as React or Angular. Experience with Powershell, Python, Kubectl is a plus. Strong proficiency working in Agile development teams.
Strong proficiency developing with CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of orchestration and scheduling services such as UAC, Airflow, Autosys is a plus. Exposure to testing and automation tools (JUnit, Selenium, JMeter).
A Bachelorâs Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field of study or equivalent years of direct work experience.
