Senior Software Developer in Test

Position Overview Global Quality Assurance (GQA) promotes a shift‑left approach and provides standardized processes and tools to enhance the quality of applications for Warner Bros. Discovery brands in News, Sports and Entertainment. As a Senior Software Developer in Test within GQA, you will be the frontline owner of quality processes, including development, testing and delivery.

Responsibilities Create and execute test cases for complex feature enhancements to validate user stories with or without collaboration with other engineers. Build automated tests by contributing new code that extends existing test frameworks. Analyze test results, identify areas for increased automated coverage and participate in the continuous improvement of automated testing systems.

Make decisions about test coverage for new features and determine sign‑off based on best‑practice guidelines. Use black‑box test methodology to execute test cases, document bugs and engage with available tools (network monitoring, debug logs, performance dashboards) to validate acceptance criteria and support debugging. Document new features and requirements from a testing perspective, and take ownership of regression and release testing coordination.

Influence team processes and testing methodologies through peer discussions and management interaction, persuading prioritization decisions by documenting impact and severity of bugs and performance issues. Communicate effectively through clear defect write‑ups, collaborating with developers and product managers to understand requirements and interacting with stakeholders and adjacent teams. Qualifications & Experience 6+ years of experience and knowledge of various test activities including automation testing, regression testing, UI/API testing, etc.

Experience driving test design and implementation. Ability to write high‑quality and stable automated test cases using existing frameworks. Understanding of test case, data, runs and results management that provides feedback and visibility to qualify & quantify test coverage.

Effective collaboration with development teams across multiple time zones and locations. Ability to review automated test run results, triage failures and verify results. Organize test case inventories that minimize the number of test cases while maximizing coverage.

Understanding of multiple test types: unit, functional, integration, end‑to‑end, security, performance, load and UI tests. Must Haves Coding language: JavaScript/Java. UI Automation: Selenium/Appium.

Mobile Automation: Appium or other tool for Android/iOS. CI/CD: Jenkins/GitHub Actions. Source Code Management: GitHub/SVN.

Test case management: Jira/TestRail/Qmetry. Good understanding of digital product development and testing for web, mobile, backend services. Interest in emerging industry trends such as AI testing and other best‑in‑class processes is a plus.

Pay Range Salary: $91,000.00 – $129,000.00 per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards.
