Seeking A Business Unit Leader Responsibilities Provide oversight and direction of the business unit including strategy, budgeting, staffing, and deliverables. Lead, mentor, and develop managers and staff while fostering a positive, diverse, and high-performing work environment. Manage full employee lifecycle activities including hiring, training, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.

Ensure production methods and practices align with internal quality standards and client requirements. Develop and implement systems to improve quality, cost efficiency, and on-time project delivery. Support business development efforts by building client relationships, developing leads, and securing new work.

Represent the organization in public and professional settings. Participate in and/or lead proposal presentations and client meetings. Establish business unit priorities and coordinate daily with engineering, finance, HR, quality, production, and external partners.

Analyze and communicate performance standards; measure results against business objectives. Oversee project flow and labor utilization to maximize productivity while maintaining safety, quality, and profitability. Plan and review daily, weekly, and quarterly labor forecasts to meet productivity targets.

Analyze labor costs and support staffing adjustments as needed. Administer company policies and operational procedures. Drive profitability, growth, and return on investment for the business unit.

Qualifications Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience. 15+ years of experience in the land development / AEC industry. Minimum 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams and/or managing a branch office. Proven experience operating a multi-site organization.

Demonstrated success managing budgets, financial performance, and operational metrics. Strong understanding of financial reports, data analysis, and performance measurement. Experience driving business development and securing new client opportunities.

Ability to lead diverse teams and build high-performing organizations. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage internal leadership and external clients. High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
