Senior Planning Manager

The Opportunity We are working with a well-capitalised, fast-growing renewable energy developer to appoint a Senior Planning Manager as part of a major expansion of their UK solar pipeline. Backed by a globally recognised infrastructure investor, the business is rapidly scaling its private-wire solar portfolio and has an ambitious target to deliver 10–15 new ~5MW ground-mounted solar projects over the next 18 months. This is a high-impact role, working directly with a newly appointed Development Director, where you will play a key part in shaping projects from early-stage origination through to planning consent.

The Role Lead planning strategy across a growing pipeline of private-wire solar projects Undertake site screening, feasibility assessments, and planning risk analysis Manage the full planning lifecycle, from early engagement through to submission and determination Work closely with land, grid, and development teams to optimise site viability Engage with local authorities, consultants, and key stakeholders About You Strong background in UK planning, within renewable energy or infrastructure MRTPI accredited Experience working on solar or similar development projects (onshore wind, BESS, or large-scale infrastructure also relevant) Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
