Based in Dundas, Ontario, we serve the GTAH, London, and Niagara markets.
Position Overview: Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, the ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in designing institutional, industrial, commercial, and healthcare facilities. This role involves collaboration with senior designers and engineers from multiple disciplines to achieve project goals. A thorough understanding of the Ontario engineering market is essential, and this position offers significant growth potential.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate project requirements with team members across all disciplines as needed. Prepare contract drawings, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to tender and construction. Ensure document quality adheres to company standards.
Work independently, applying prescriptive requirements of mechanical building services engineering codes with minimal supervision. Meet project timelines and budgets. Perform detailed site take-offs of existing building systems and conduct routine site reviews.
Coordinate construction administration, including the review and issuance of Change Orders, Clarifications, and RFI responses. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Experience in the preparation and design of engineering drawings for HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Medical Gases.
Strong understanding of construction protocols and processes with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications. Proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT MEP, and MS Office. Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, and related standards.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Commitment to ongoing professional development. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Designation as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Ontario. ASHRAE registered member.
