A leading engineering organization is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design and execution of large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects. This role provides mechanical engineering leadership across critical water, wastewater, and utility systems that support complex facilities and operations. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical design efforts from concept through construction and commissioning, working closely with cross‑functional engineering teams, vendors, and construction partners.
This position reports to the Engineering Manager and serves as a key technical resource responsible for the quality and delivery of mechanical design packages on complex projects. Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical engineering design development for new and existing industrial facilities, including water treatment, wastewater systems, and utility infrastructure Develop, review, and approve mechanical layouts and equipment arrangement drawings Produce and review piping design packages, including piping layouts, isometrics, and specifications Lead equipment selection and prepare technical data sheets for pumps, valves, blowers, tanks, filters, heat exchangers, skids, and related systems Define mechanical design criteria, material selection, and corrosion allowances Provide technical oversight during procurement, vendor evaluation, fabrication, installation, and commissioning Collaborate with process, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and structural teams to ensure coordinated and constructible designs Support project execution through design reviews, field support, and resolution of technical issues Contribute to project schedules, quality control, and engineering deliverables Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Eight or more years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing, or EPC project environments Experience designing mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities Familiarity with complex facility or infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, standards, and industry best practices Proven ability to serve as a technical lead within a multidisciplinary engineering team #J-18808-Ljbffr
