Senior Marketing Specialist

Overview

In this role, you drive SOM’s marketing and business development in the London market, shaping pursuit strategies and client engagement. You lead proposal development, interviews, and marketing collateral to communicate SOM’s strengths. You collaborate with cross‑functional teams to explore market opportunities and strengthen SOM’s competitive position.

You combine strategic insight with hands‑on execution to win projects that advance the firm’s sustainable, interdisciplinary design mission.

• Lead proposal preparation including outlines, schedules, and content development
• Shape client interview strategy and manage interview processes
• Develop marketing collateral with leadership and marketing teams
• Conduct market, leadership, and potential client research
• Develop pursuit and market strategies; highlight competitive advantages
• Engage in business plan creation and implementation within focus areas
• Use Salesforce for pursuit, project tracking, and pipeline management in collaboration with Pursuit Leads
• Build areas of expertise within SOM's A/E/I services; expand geographically or by market
• Contribute to training of Marketing Coordinators and Senior Marketing Coordinators
• Represent SOM in client and professional organizations to nurture new leads
• Support additional duties as needed

• 5+ years of marketing experience in the A/E/C industry
• Strong writing and graphic design skills
• Strong organizational and project management abilities
• Ability to collaborate with senior firm leadership
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
• Experience with Salesforce CRM; OpenAsset is a plus
• Passion for architectural design to support marketing, business development, and proposals
