Role Summary The Senior Manager - Supply Chain Management (Fabrication) will be responsible for driving end-to-end supply chain operations for fabrication and manufacturing activities, ensuring seamless procurement, material planning, vendor development, inventory management, subcontracting, warehousing, and logistics functions. The role will work closely with Engineering, Projects, Production, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure timely availability of materials and fabricated components while achieving organizational objectives related to cost, quality, delivery, and operational efficiency. The incumbent will play a critical role in strengthening supplier partnerships, optimizing supply chain processes, and supporting business growth through effective planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Supply Chain Management Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives and fabrication requirements .Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and supply reliability .Establish and monitor supply chain KPIs related to procurement, inventory, vendor performance, and logistics Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Manage procurement of fabrication materials including steel structures, aluminum components, sheets, pipes, fasteners, electrical items, hardware, consumables, and project-specific materials. Identify sourcing opportunities and develop cost-effective procurement strategies Lead commercial negotiations, contract finalization, and supplier agreements Ensure timely procurement and uninterrupted material availability to support fabrication and project schedules Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supplier capacities to mitigate procurement risks Vendor Development & Supplier Management Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop fabrication vendors, subcontractors, and strategic suppliers. Build long-term supplier relationships to improve reliability and service levels.
Ensure supplier compliance with company policies, quality requirements, and contractual obligations. Materials Planning & Inventory Management Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Project teams for demand forecasting and material planning Ensure availability of materials based on production plans and project timelines. Minimize excess inventory and stock-outs through effective planning and control mechanisms Logistics & Warehouse Operations Oversee inbound and outbound logistics activities.
Ensure efficient warehouse operations including receipt, storage, material handling, inventory accuracy, and dispatch. Optimize transportation and logistics costs while maintaining service levels Cost Optimization & Performance Improvement Drive annual cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, value engineering, process improvements, and supplier negotiations. Analyze procurement spend and identify opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost management activities related to supply chain operations. Monitor supply chain performance and implement corrective actions where required. Educational Qualification Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Materials Management, or related field will be preferred. Experience 12-18 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Materials Management, Manufacturing Operations in Fabrication Industry. Strong experience in fabrication material sourcing, vendor development, subcontracting management, and project-driven procurement.
