Overview of role The Senior Manager, Operations Analytics is a senior role responsible for advancing dataâdriven decisionâmaking across airline operations. This leader will oversee the development and application of advanced analytics and performance insights to improve reliability, efficiency and guest experience across WestJet's network. Working closely with leaders across operations, commercial, guest experience, and finance this role will translate complex operational data into actionable insights that drive measurable improvements in onâtime performance, aircraft utilization, turnaround execution, and overall operational resilience.
Key deliverables and responsibilities Reporting: Develop and maintain operational scorecards and dashboards which provide visibility into operational performance relative to historical data and industry/peer benchmarks Be the voice of operational performance insights across the organization, regularly presenting monthly and adâhoc performance to senior operational leaders and executives Insights: Lead complex initiatives to analyze operational disruptions and service failures, aircraft turnaround performance, schedule reliability, crew and aircraft utilization, and airportâlevel performance Through close collaboration with senior operational leaders, help diagnose root causes of delays and inefficiencies and develop dataâdriven solutions that improve operational execution Strategic analysis: Lead and support advanced enterprise strategic analysis including performance forecasting and scenario/sensitivity analysis to help drive enhanced network and schedule construction through operational parameter improvements and/or other adâhoc levers Strategic partnership: Act as a key strategic partner to senior operational leaderships, providing insights and recommendations that shape operational strategy and performance improvement initiatives Translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives that support executive decisionâmaking and help drive a culture of operational excellence across the organization Leadership: Build and lead a highâperforming team of analysts, including establishing best practices for analytics development, fostering a culture of curiosity and problemâsolving, and ensuring strong partnerships with data, advanced analytics, and other supporting functions Experience and qualifications 8â12+ years of progressive experience in analytics, operational performance, or dataâdriven roles, preferably within the airline, transportation, or other complex operating environments Proven experience leading analytics teams and developing highâperforming talent in a fastâpaced, crossâfunctional setting Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable improvements in operational performance (e.g., onâtime performance, turnaround efficiency, asset utilization, etc.) through dataâdriven insights Deep experience building and scaling performance reporting frameworks, including dashboards, scorecards, and KPI tracking aligned to business objectives Strong background in diagnosing operational issues and leading structured rootâcause analysis across complex systems and processes Deep experience conducting advanced analytics, including forecasting, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis to inform strategic decisionâmaking Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and translate analytics into business action Proven ability to communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to both technical and nonâtechnical audiences, including executiveâlevel presentations Advanced proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, PowerBI or similar platforms) Strong understanding of data modelling, data structures, and working with large, complex datasets Experience with forecasting techniques and statistical analysis Familiarity with airline operational systems and data (e.g., scheduling systems, operations control, crew management, airport systems) is an asset The benefits of being a WestJetter A fun and friendly culture with colleagues who work together to win Travel privileges for you and your family, effective from your start date Savings and Benefit programs that are flexible to meet your specific needs Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion We embrace what makes each of us unique and what makes us uniquely WestJet.
