About the Role:

As part of our continued investment in building a global analytics and insights capability, Albertsons Companies is expanding our Strategy & Analytics team with an offshore hub in Bangalore, India. This role will serve as the offshore team lead, supporting our fast-growing eCommerce business by delivering data-driven insights, building machine learning models, enabling end-to-end analytics pipelines, and scaling self-serve dashboards for our business partners in the U.S.
The Sr. Manager will be responsible for managing a team of Sr.

Analysts in Bangalore and will serve as the primary point of contact for coordination with onshore counterparts in the U.S. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a world-class analytics center of excellence and drive measurable impact across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor and grow a high performing team of Data Analysts and Senior Data Analysts fostering a culture of curiosity, rigor and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear goals and priorities for the team, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.
  • Establish best practices for data analysis, reporting standards, and quality assurance across the team.
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of analytical projects from scoping and data gathering through to insight generation and executive presentation.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data models that provide ongoing visibility into key performance indicators (KPIs) and business trends.
  • Identify opportunities to proactively surface insights that drive competitive advantage and operational efficiency.
  • Partner closely with senior leaders across products and functions to understand their analytical needs and deliver timely, relevant insights.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into well-defined analytical frameworks and communicate findings in a clear, compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Present recommendations and findings to executive leadership, influencing strategic decisions with data-driven evidence.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure data integrity and accessibility
  • Champion data literacy across the organization by developing training resources and promoting a data-informed culture.

Advanced Analytics & AI/ML Modeling:

  • Build and deploy predictive models and machine learning solutions (e.g., churn, LTV, segmentation, recommendations) using Python/R, leveraging internal and external data sources to drive personalized and scalable eCommerce experiences.

Data Engineering & Automation Pipelines:

  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to design, test, and implement robust data pipelines and model execution workflows (e.g., using Databricks, Airflow) to enable continuous model scoring and insights delivery.

Business Intelligence & Dashboarding:

  • Develop and maintain scalable dashboards and self-serve BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to track key eCommerce KPIs such as sales, conversion, customer retention, and site performance metrics.

Offshore-Onshore Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Bangalore team and the U.S.-based Strategy & Analytics team. Join regular syncs, translate business needs into project plans, communicate progress and blockers, and ensure alignment across time zones.

Insight Generation

  • Analyze customer behavior, shopping journeys, and campaign performance to uncover insights and support strategic recommendations, working with structured and unstructured datasets.

Test & Learn Support

  • Design and analyze A/B and multivariate tests in partnership with product and marketing teams. Support the rollout of learnings from experiments.

Data Governance & Quality Checks:

  • Establish data validation practices within the team and ensure consistency and accuracy in all analytics deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field, including 2+ years leading and developing offshore analytics teams;
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python (including pandas, scikit-learn, and statsmodels) with hands-on experience analyzing large-scale datasets in cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar environments.
  • Proven experience developing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models, statistical models, and analytics pipelines.
  • Strong expertise in statistical and predictive modeling, including time-series forecasting, clustering, feature engineering, optimization, and model evaluation.
  • Deep knowledge of marketing and eCommerce analytics, including attribution modeling, marketing mix modeling (MMM) / incrementality testing, and campaign performance measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data analyses into actionable business insights and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Experience presenting analytical findings and influencing executive-level decision-making.
  • Proficiency with data visualization and dashboarding tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities, with a collaborative and customer-focused mindset.
  • eCommerce or retail industry experience preferred.
