Role Overview The Senior Manager, Business Development & Strategic Initiatives plays a significant role in supporting strategic growth initiatives leveraging external engagement and ecosystem development within the aerospace and manufacturing environment. This position supports the Director, Business Development and Strategic Initiatives, assisting with corporate affairs and business development opportunities that enhance the organization's industrial footprint, strengthen supply chain resilience, and bolster long‑term competitiveness. Key Tasks Assist in leveraging and maximizing available funding in each region for business development opportunities and/or strategic initiatives.

Support the development of country strategies for all sites worldwide in collaboration with internal stakeholders such as the operations team. Identify and pursue new business development opportunities aligned with defined corporate affairs and industrial strategies, leveraging insights from geopolitical, regulatory, and industry trends. Identify and structure mid‑ to long‑term local partnerships that reinforce key organizational priorities (innovation, workforce development, supply chain capability, operational excellence).

Facilitate efforts to identify opportunities to enhance local sourcing, industrial participation, and vertical integration within the aerospace value chain. Develop collaboration strategies and initiatives with suppliers, economic development agencies, training institutions, and local networks to support the organization's supply chain development and workforce attraction. Translate corporate priorities into actionable programs with defined milestones, KPIs, and measurable impact.

Assess and maintain Enterprise Risk Management for geopolitical risk and align actions to mitigate those risks effectively. Assist the internal global trade organization with complex export permit issues and advocate for timely resolution. Ensure compliance with funding contractual obligations, manage associated risks, and contribute to driving cross‑departmental processes to meet these requirements.

Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, regulatory, and policy developments to provide insights that inform senior leadership’s decision‑making. Ensure alignment between corporate messaging, strategic priorities, and external local engagement for all sites worldwide, contributing to a unified voice for all corporate representatives. Collaborate with the primary liaison in engaging with academic organizations, particularly in Canada and Poland, in collaboration with the local management team.

Enhance the organization’s visibility, reputation, and influence within the regional industrial ecosystem. Qualifications ≥10 years leading initiatives, supporting teams and improving processes in corporate affairs, business development, strategic assessment, or related fields. A university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience.

Strong understanding of market dynamics, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development. Demonstrated experience working with internal and external stakeholder networks such as local supply chains, industry associations, and organizational teams. Excellent communication, initiative, ownership, mobilization and presentation skills.

Proven ability to influence and operate in a complex environment. The position is part of a French‑speaking work environment and requires a very good knowledge of English for reading, understanding, writing and communicating with international colleagues, customers and suppliers.
