Job Description
Key Responsibilities May Include:
*** This role requires a presence in our Warsaw office four times a month and covers regional responsibility for Poland, the Baltics, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania. ***
Position Purpose
This role provides commercial and pragmatic legal support to regional leadership and business support teams, advising on a broad range of legal matters that impact the region and the organization as a whole.
** YOUR MISSION ** – WHAT WILL YOU DO? ** :
Provide strategic legal counsel to the leadership teams in the relevant countries and support the country business units and functional areas in the management of day-to-day legal issues, including horizon scanning to mitigate future risks
Advise on a wide variety of commercial transactions with key customers and vendors for all business lines; draft and negotiate required contractual documentation
Provide strategic dispute resolution advice; procure and manage external counsel in litigation matters as required
Monitor and help drive compliance with relevant legislation/regulations and company policies including primary responsibility for compliance training and management, including Speak Up, code of conduct and competition matters
Advise on and negotiate agreements to facilitate plant operations, logistics, asset management, and real property matters
Manage external legal spend and relationships
Contribute to Global Legal Function strategy and process improvements
** WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ** :
Law degree / non-law degree and conversion from strong university and qualification from an accredited law school
6+ years post qualification experience
Ideally a combination of experience in private practice and in-house
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
Team player, and highly approachable personality
Strong interpersonal, presentational and networking skills.
Strong analytical and technical legal skills – including drafting, negotiating, risk mitigation and problem resolution
Ability to work autonomously and within a matrix
Fluency in English and Polish language, any other language is a plus
