POSITION SUMMARY: This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join the Associated Materials team to positively impact the employee experience and our strategic goals.
The Senior Human Resources Generalist will be highly regarded with an excellent track record in their current environment. This role is a combination of tactical human resources requirements coupled with strategic initiatives. This position will provide day to day employee relations support to managers and employees, as well as drive business initiatives in assigned areas both at the site and across the Manufacturing Human Resources organization.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Passionately creates and ensures a culture of openness and employee engagement. Foster a culture of transparency, trust, and employee engagement through proactive communication and inclusive practices Implement and administer HR policies and procedures Serve as a trusted resource by providing day-to-day support and guidance to employees and managers on HR-related matters Provide daily support and guidance to employees and involved managers as needed. Assist with hourly staffing requirements and ensures the needs are met with high caliber employees.
Assist in leading change initiatives to foster an environment of sustained improvements related to the overall employee experience by methodically and assisting in aggressively implementing repeatable and efficient processes for the employee and the business. Implement and administer employee policies. Monitor and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment transactions.
Assist with regular or spot audits of employment transactions (hires, terminations, position changes) Own and efficiently transact certain segments of the employee transaction in the HRIS / and payrolling systems, as well as managing related compliance and records. Formally and informally educate and train hiring managers and employees on HR policies, practices, and processes. Engages and aligns local HR resources on business strategy, HR agenda and related deliverables.
Facilities the sites HR processes related to facilitating compensation, benefits, recruitment, retention, and performance management by working with COE's and within framework. Works with site management by providing coaching and consulting support in all areas of talent management, including selection, assessment, development, deployment, engagement, and retention of talent. Assists and builds effective and creative community involvement programs to attract and retain top talent.
This includes working with local universities as well as supporting the AM HR brand to measure employee satisfaction. May work with federal, state, and local educational institutions to secure training grants and develop educational partnerships that strengthen our business and help develop associates. Work with educational institutions to develop active, viable co-op and internship programs, possibly designing rotations within our business into the curriculum at the program level.
Working directly and with third party temporary agencies to accommodate staffing requirements. Other activities as assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in business management, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field. 5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in a unionized setting.
Bilingual proficiency preferred to support a diverse workforce (English/Spanish) Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information across all levels of the organization Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with strong problem-solving, analytical, and project coordination skills Prior experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is preferred Demonstrated eagerness to learn and understand business operations Highly organized with excellent time management and prioritization abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to quickly learn and adapt to new HR systems and technologies Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-energy environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and other relevant labor standards Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and integrity Demonstrated commitment to promoting a positive workplace culture aligned with organizational value Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships Comfortable with data, metrics, and analytics; financial acumen is a plus Willingness and ability to travel to other sites as needed, up to 10% of the time About Us When you join AMI, you are part of a leading North American manufacturing business of vinyl windows, cladding, metal siding, trim and other essential exterior building products for residential, light commercial and multifamily projects.
