EM&E Group is a leading Spanish defense and security corporation specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of complex and innovative solutions. We are currently undergoing significant international expansion and are seeking top-tier engineering talent to join our team.


We are seeking a Senior Gun Barrel Design Expert to spearhead the design, metallurgical simulation, and manufacturing optimization of our next-generation barrel systems.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Advanced Design: Lead the 3D CAD modeling of barrels for handguns, precision rifles, and automatic weapon systems.
  • Physics Simulation: Perform finite element analysis (FEA) for thermomechanical stress, gas expansion pressures, and metal fatigue under extreme operating conditions.
  • Materials Engineering: Select and validate steels (carbon, stainless, exotic alloys) and next-gen coatings to mitigate barrel erosion and corrosion.
  • Manufacturing Supervision: Optimize mass and precision production processes, including button rifling, cold hammer forging, broaching, and ultra-precision honing.
  • Testing & Failure Analysis: Design ballistic test protocols and conduct forensic metallurgical analysis on barrels that fail proof-load or endurance testing.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs strictly adhere to military standards and international arms manufacturing laws.


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s or Ph.D. with a focus on ballistics or metallurgy is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of direct experience in barrel design or critical firearm component engineering within the defense sector or precision competitive shooting industry .
  • Software Proficiency: Expert mastery of CAD platforms (Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA) and advanced simulation software (ANSYS, ABAQUS).
  • Advanced Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of compressible fluid dynamics, steel metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and industrial metrology.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to mentor junior engineers and effectively communicate across cross-functional teams, from R&D to the machine shop floor.
