Senior Full Stack Web Developer (Plano)
Avid
Job Description
Location : Plano, TX (3 days/week in office) Team : Product & Engineering Reports to : Chief Product Officer Who We Are Strategy and execution, ready when you are. At Avid, we’re reimagining how fundraising works. We’ve built the Fundraising Operating System – the first AI-powered platform that connects a nonprofit’s CRM, email, donation tools, and ad platforms into one unified system.
Avid turns scattered donor data into daily priorities, ready-to-launch campaigns, and real-time results. We don’t replace the tools fundraisers already use. We make them work together.
The result: faster launches, clearer priorities, and fewer barriers between strategy and execution. Backed by a $6.5M seed round led by Silverton Partners, Avid is already in use by leading nonprofit organizations across the U.S. We’re building native AI solutions for the nonprofit space – and we’re just getting started.
The Role Avid is hiring a Senior Full Stack Web Developer to design, build, and own the systems that drive this innovation. You’ll work across our core platform – from AI-powered assistants and recommendation engines to reporting dashboards, campaign automation, and the data architecture that connects it all. This role is ideal for a highly motivated self-starter who thrives at the intersection of systems design, business semantics, and AI enablement.
You’ll report directly to the CPO and be responsible for owning major initiatives from conception through production rollout. We’re a small, capable engineering team that moves fast and trusts each other to own their work. We’re looking for someone who raises the bar through independent execution, technical judgment, and product-minded thinking – someone who brings rigor to testing, quality, and full feature delivery alongside speed.
What you’ll do Core Application Development Own major product initiatives from early architecture through implementation, launch, and iteration. Build across the full stack using Laravel, Vue, MySQL, and BigQuery. Lead technical decisions for the core application while balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.
Bring rigor to testing, code quality, and complete feature rollout – ensuring what ships is truly production-ready. AI-Powered Features Design and build AI-powered product features using APIs such as OpenAI and Gemini. Work across the AI layer of the product – from conversational assistants and content generation to intelligent recommendations and quality monitoring systems.
Use AI fluently in your development workflow to increase speed and quality. Collaboration & Product Thinking Work closely with the CPO to translate business priorities into clear technical plans. Collaborate across engineering, design, customer success, and data teams to ship features that solve real problems for fundraisers.
Understand and work through dependencies between application code, data systems, and connected external services. Build with awareness of data trust and security – our customers manage sensitive donor information and depend on us to protect it. Raise the standard for engineering execution across the product.
What Success Looks Like Features you ship are adopted by customers and measurably improve their fundraising outcomes. AI-powered capabilities you build deliver accurate, trustworthy, and actionable results grounded in customer data. Code you write is well-tested, maintainable, and raises the quality bar for the team.
You reduce ambiguity – turning loosely defined product concepts into clear technical plans and shipping them end to end. Cross-functional partners (product, design, customer success) see you as a thought partner, not just an executor. The platform becomes more scalable, reliable, and secure because of decisions you make.
What You Bring 6+ years of professional web development experience. Strong PHP and Laravel experience in production environments. Strong Vue experience in production applications.
Solid experience with database systems & design. Experience building and shipping data-heavy SaaS applications. Experience working with AI APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, or similar) to build production features.
Comfort using AI tools in your development workflow (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.). Ability to architect solutions, own your space, and drive work independently. Mission-driven mindset – you care about the work your software makes possible.
Bonus points for: Familiarity with the nonprofit fundraising space. Experience integrating 3rd party marketing tools (email systems, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc.) Experience building multi-system data pipelines or integration layers. Experience with Google Cloud Platform infrastructure (Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, etc.) Who This Role is For You own outcomes and are driven by the value your work creates for customers.
You understand how application architecture, data models, and remote systems affect each other. You think critically about how AI is reshaping software development and product delivery – and you’re excited to build at that frontier. You care about product quality and user experience, not just technical correctness.
You bring thoroughness to testing and delivery – the last 20% matters to you as much as the first 80%. You're highly self-directed and take pride in ownership. You don't need heavy process or close oversight to do your best work.
Application Requirements To be considered, applicants should include: A GitHub profile or portfolio of relevant work. A short write-up explaining how you use AI in your development workflow and how it makes you more effective. We want to understand how you actually build, how you think, and how AI is part of your day-to-day execution.
How We Invest in You We believe people do their best work when they’re cared for and challenged. Health & Wellness Full medical, dental, and vision coverage Wellness reimbursement Time Off Unlimited PTO Paid parental leave Work Environment Hybrid-friendly (Plano HQ preferred, 3x/week) Flexible work hours Free daily lunch at the office Home office setup stipend Growth & Development Professional development budget Leadership coaching and team-building opportunities Interview Process Initial Call (60 min): Align on goals, role fit, and Avid culture.
