Job Description

In the role of Senior Financial Reporting, you will add value to the business by coordinating and executing the periodic closing process, analyzing and reporting financial information and consolidating various legal entities within the Group. Act as the technical accounting lead and trusted sparring partner to the Manager Accounting & Reporting. Ensure accurate, complete, timely and compliant financial reporting in accordance with IFRS, Dutch GAAP and applicable internal, external and tax reporting requirements.

Lead tax accounting and reporting activities, including VAT, corporate income tax accounting and related compliance processes.

Main responsibilities:

Financial closing and reporting:

Assume end-to-end ownership of the balance sheets and profit and loss accounts of multiple legal entities across various jurisdictions, including the review and analysis of journal entries, reconciliations, reporting packages and consolidation submissions. Coordinate and execute monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities for assigned legal entities and business activities. Lead commercial, statutory and fiscal consolidation and reporting processes for the organization.

Technical IFRS & tax accounting and compliance:

Act as subject matter expert for IFRS and Dutch GAAP, including technical accounting assessments, accounting memos and position papers for complex transactions. Support accounting treatment for acquisitions, disposals, carve-outs, integrations, restructuring, leases, provisions and contingencies.

Statutory reporting, audit and tax support:

Coordinate statutory reporting, audit documentation, interim and year-end audit support. Act as a key contact for internal and external auditors. Support VAT accounting and reconciliations, VAT return reviews and indirect tax reporting activities in cooperation with the Corporate Tax department and external advisors.

Business partnering and stakeholder management:

Partner with Business Control, Treasury, Tax, Supply Chain, Commercial and Corporate functions by analyzing financial information and providing accounting guidance to stakeholders and management. Support business controllers with reliable financial input for profitability, cash driver and performance analysis.

Projects and continuous improvement:

Participate in finance transformation, reporting optimization, SAP FICO/BPC, HFM/Hyperion, Power BI, automation, standardization and sustainability or CSRD-related initiatives where relevant. Drive standardization, automation and simplification of accounting and reporting processes.

Team support:

Provide coaching and technical guidance to accounting and reporting team members, fostering knowledge sharing, professional development and continuous improvement within the finance organization. Act as deputy for the Manager Accounting & Reporting during absences or on specific delegated topics.

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor or master degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline such as RA, AA or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • At least seven years of relevant Accounting & Reporting, audit or financial reporting experience in an international corporate environment; Big 4 or complex industrial experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, Dutch GAAP, statutory reporting, consolidation and external audits, with experience using SAP FICO, SAP BPC and HFM/Hyperion.
  • Proven knowledge of tax accounting and reporting, including VAT accounting, CIT compliance and indirect tax reporting deliverables is a strong asset.
  • Accurate, analytical, critical and pragmatic professional with a positive can-do mindset, able to work under pressure, communicate clearly in Dutch and English and interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • A gross annual salary between €120,000 and €130,000, depending on your experience and expertise.
