Job Description As a key member of the Finance team, the Senior Financial Analyst’s primary objective is to provide project financials to the business. You will be a business partner to the project and operational management teams to help ensure successful project execution.
Prepare monthly financial results, variance analysis, and executive‑level reporting packages. Ensure financial processes, documentation, and controls align with SOX internal control environment. Support monthly close activities, including reviewing junior team members’ tasks, journal entries, reconciliations, and alignment with IFRS and SOX requirements.
Provide general guidance and mentorship to junior Finance staff on financial processes, reporting, and analysis. Prepare weekly financial forecast for Segment Business Review, explain main drivers of variances week over week, and identify financial risks and opportunities impacting project and operational performance. Partner with Operations to forecast and analyze revenue recognized under percentage‑of‑completion (POC).
Support Operations by answering financial questions, providing analysis, and helping with business decision‑making. Review departmental forecast and actual headcount and costs with Department Leaders to ensure accurate forecasting and control over overhead spend. Monitor, analyze, and forecast overall divisional cash flows, including operational and project impacts, to support effective cash management and forecasting.
Annual planning and financial forecasting. Prepare department budgets annually to support the plan and then produce monthly reports comparing actual to plan. Pursue and implement process improvements.
Assist with internal and external audits as required. Generate other ad‑hoc analysis as required for running business and supporting initiatives. Maintain record retention and documentation standards for Finance and related functions.
Comply with International Standardization Organization (ISO) standards and documentation for the department. Ensure safeguarding of company assets. Full compliance with the terms and conditions within the employee signed work‑from‑home policy.
Comply with all ATS Company policies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
CPA or pursuit of CPA desired. Three to five years equivalent accounting experience. Preferred two years of experience in a SOX and IFRS environment.
Excellent math, communication, and organizational skills. Software/system knowledge, e.g., enterprise resource system (ERP), Microsoft Office suite, advanced level skill in Excel. Ability to work with business systems directly or indirectly.
Must be hands‑on and able to meet deadlines for responsibilities either directly or indirectly. Job Specifications The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
Visual acuity – Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens. Hearing ability – Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions. Working conditions – In a normal office environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels or physical hazards when visiting the manufacturing floor.
Capable of wearing appropriate related PPE for extended periods of time. Health, Safety and Environment Work in compliance with divisional Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures. Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through Lockout‑Tagout (LOTO) methods.
Actively pursue a duty to act where any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts are witnessed. Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts to your leader. Escalate any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts which leaders do not address to the General Manager (GM).
Report any defect in any equipment or protective device. Ensure that the required protective equipment (PPE) is used for the assigned task. Attend all required Health, Safety, and Environmental training.
Report any accidents/incidents, including near misses, to your supervisor. Assist in investigating any accidents/incidents or near misses if requested. Refrain from engaging in any unruly conduct.
Ensure that equipment, materials and protective devices are functioning in a safe manner. Ensure that employees are working in accordance with divisional health and safety procedures. Do not report to work onsite at a customer’s site, or travel on behalf of ATS when feeling ill.
Contact your leader immediately. Conform to all pandemic requirements identified by regulating authorities and ATS leadership during pandemic situations, e.g., social or physical distancing and various PPE requirements. Sanitize your environmental footprint: sanitize after using any common or shared use item within the facility.
Properly dispose of any witnessed trash or rubbish within the facility to the proper receptacle, using PPE if needed. Properly dispose of liquids to prevent contaminants into the drain and surrounding water systems. Smoke/vape only in designated smoking areas and not within 15 feet of any door.
