Role Title: Technical Architect
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for defining, governing, and evolving Marriott's Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) architecture and SailPoint IdentityIQ platform strategy while serving as the people leader for the broader India-based IGA team. This role provides both technical architecture leadership and people management across the India IGA delivery organization, including Business Analysts, RBAC Analysts, Developers, Quality Engineers, and other SailPoint delivery resources. The role partners closely with US-based Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Engineering leaders, Operations teams, and business stakeholders to align technical direction, delivery execution, resource planning, and team development with Marriotts IGA roadmap and business priorities.
The SailPoint Architect will participate in the full solution lifecycle including requirements analysis, solution architecture, technical design, implementation governance, testing, deployment, operational readiness, and platform modernization activities. In addition, this role is accountable for people leadership across the larger India IGA team, including coaching, mentoring, onboarding, performance management, engagement, workload prioritization, capacity planning, succession readiness, and cross-team delivery coordination. The role is responsible for establishing technical standards, driving architectural consistency, building team capability, fostering an inclusive and high-performing culture, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and supportable identity governance solutions.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Identity and Access Management (IAM) experience.
- 5+ years of SailPoint IdentityIQ architecture, implementation, and technical leadership experience.
- Experience in designing and governing enterprise-scale Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solutions.
- Experience leading SailPoint application onboarding, integration architecture, identity lifecycle management, access governance, certification, and RBAC initiatives.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, IAM governance, security controls, compliance requirements, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
- Experience leading technical design reviews, architecture governance processes, implementation programs, distributed delivery teams, and people-management activities for multi-disciplinary technology teams.
- Experience coaching employees, supporting career development, conducting performance feedback conversations, managing workload and priorities, supporting hiring and onboarding, and partnering with leadership or HR on sensitive people matters when appropriate.
- Java, REST APIs, LDAP, Active Directory, SQL, RBAC, SoD, Identity Lifecycle Management, Application Onboarding, Access Governance.
Technical Skills:
- Strong experience designing, implementing, and governing SailPoint IdentityIQ solutions including application onboarding, identity lifecycle management (Joiner/Mover/Leaver), access requests, certifications, provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and access governance capabilities.
- Experience defining architecture and integration strategies using SailPoint IdentityIQ, REST APIs, Active Directory, LDAP, ServiceNow, databases, cloud applications, HR platforms, web services, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Preferred experience with SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC)/IdentityNow, SailPoint Lifecycle Manager (LCM), Compliance Manager, enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), CI/CD deployment practices, Agile delivery methodologies, and professional certifications including SailPoint, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent credentials.
People Management Responsibilities:

- Engagement & Inclusion Monitor team engagement/pulse survey results and drive action plans; foster an inclusive culture and support diversity & inclusion initiatives.
- Communication & Cascading Hold regular 1:1s with direct reports (and, at Sr Manager level, with managers reporting to them); cascade organisational updates and business context ina timely, transparent manner.
- Performance Management Set SMART goals for direct reports, conduct fair and well-differentiated performance evaluations, andparticipateconstructively in calibration to ensure ratings are defensible and consistent.
- Career Development & Coaching Build individual development plans aligned to career aspirations; provide ongoing coaching and stretch opportunities;identifyand nurture high-potential talent.
- Managing Underperformance Identify underperformance early, address it through honest andtimelyconversations, and implement structured performance improvement plans whererequired.
- Succession & Retention Identify flight-risk employees and critical roles; proactivelyretainkey talent and build succession readiness particularlyimportant at Sr Manager level given accountability for manager-of-manager structures.
- Hiring & Capacity Planning Define role requirements,participatein hiring decisions, and plan team capacity/headcount in line with business demand and budget.
- Employee Relations Handle grievances, interpersonal conflicts, and sensitive peoplematterspromptly and confidentially; partner with HR on disciplinary matters and escalate appropriately.
- Governance & Compliance (People Dimension)Ensure the team adheres to organisational policies, and that people-related records/processesremainaudit-ready, including support for business continuity/succession planning for key-person risk.
