Location: Vancouver, BC Salary: $95,000-120,000+ annually (based on experience) Post Date: March 11, 2026 | Close Date: Open until filled Overview EQUILIBRIUM is an award‑winning mid‑sized consulting Structural Engineering firm working on a diverse range of ambitious projects both locally and internationally. Founded in Vancouver in 1998, the firm focuses on progressive and innovative building projects, sustainability‑oriented construction, and timber construction. Responsibilities Work on and manage innovative, architecturally‑led and award‑winning projects across North America and internationally.

Develop structural solutions that do more than just meet code, designing structures that are strong, resilient, sustainable and that directly contribute to the architecture of the building. Perform structural analysis and develop designs from concept through construction with the support of the EQUILIBRIUM team. Communicate designs to the drafting team and coordinate the development of structural BIM models and drawings.

Contribute to design coordination with other consultants, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders. Participate in internal committees (sustainability, technical standards, social, etc.) and in leading the technical aspects of the business, such as developing company technical standards. Engage in business development activities.

Exact responsibilities will depend on experience level. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from a Civil/Structural Engineering program (Master’s preferred). Valid work status in Canada.

P.Eng designation with EGBC or equivalent Canadian/US designation. Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in a similar role. Knowledge of and experience with US codes is an asset.

Interest in Mass Timber; mass timber experience is a bonus. Interest in embodied carbon and minimizing the climate impact of structural design. Seismic analysis and design experience is an asset.

Experience with structural analysis software such as RFEM, RSTAB, ETABS, SAFE, GSA, Tedds, RAM, etc. Familiarity with Bluebeam. Sound knowledge of timber, steel, concrete, and hybrid construction.

Skills Experience leading project designs and design teams. Experience acting as a lead in collaboration and coordination with other consultants and clients. Strong communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. Enthusiasm and love for learning. Disciplined work ethic with a great attitude and energy.

Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple projects and teams concurrently. Organized, self‑motivated, proactive, detail‑oriented, and willing to take on new challenges. Problem‑solver and critical thinker.
