Senior Engineer, Software

The Senior Engineer will be a key contributor in building and scaling T-Mobiles modern financial applications. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and modern data engineering practices. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with SSMS, ETL development, SSIS, advanced T-SQL (including CTEs and MERGE statements) building new data pipelines.

As a Senior Engineer, you will work closely with other engineers, analysts, and Finance partners to design, implement, and optimize data pipelines that power critical financial systems, reporting, and compliance needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving business problems through technical solutions. What Youll Do: SSMS Data Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL Server database solutions using SSMS.

This would include writing and tuning advanced SQL queries including CTEs, MERGE statements, stored procedures, functions, and performance optimization techniques within SSMS. ETL/ELT Pipelines : Design, develop, and maintain reliable data pipelines and workflows using Snowflake, dbt and other modern data integration tools. Job Scheduling: Implement and support job scheduling and monitoring using Control-M.

Code Version Control : Manage source code and CI/CD processes using GitLab and GitHub. Databricks & Lakehouse Data Engineering: Develop and maintain solutions within Databricks and Lakehouse architectures. Collaboration : Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Data Integrity : Ensure data integrity, security, and performance best practices are followed. Data Quality & Compliance : Ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability of financial data to support audit and compliance requirements. Analysis : Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks.

Snowflake Data Engineering : Develop and optimize data warehouse solutions in Snowflake , ensuring performance and scalability for finance and accounting workloads. Team Contribution : Collaborate in an agile engineering environment, participating in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement of engineering practices. Knowledge Sharing : Mentor junior engineers and share best practices for Snowflake and dbt usage within the team.

Required Experience & Education 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data platform roles 3+ years of experience in SQL Server development . 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure). 3+ years hands-on experience with Snowflake/Data Bricks for data warehousing, performance tuning, and secure data sharing. Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and performance optimization. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and Agile methodologies Experience working with financial data & business rules, translating business requirements into data pipelines.

Understanding of accounting concepts (e.g., Forecasting, Budgeting, Accruals) and ability to partner with Finance/Accounting teams. Familiarity with CI/CD workflows (Git, GitHub, GitLab, or similar). Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Nice-to-Have Cloud platform certification(s) i.e. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Familiarity with Snowflake utilities (Snowpipes, Streams, Tasks). Experience with Azure data services or other cloud platforms.

Experience migrating legacy ETL systems to modern cloud-based data platforms. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience in enterprise-scale environments with large datasets.

Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation. Experience handling financial data and applications.
