Job Description

Lead Software Engineer – Enterprise Applications We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise applications. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys balancing architecture, hands‑on development, technical leadership, and mentoring. The successful candidate will have strong experience across modern web application development, distributed systems, cloud technologies, DevOps, and automated testing.

You will work closely with cross‑functional technology and business teams to develop secure, scalable, and reliable solutions in a modern cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership
    • Lead the design and development of enterprise applications and distributed systems.
    • Establish and promote software architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
    • Participate in architecture and solution design discussions.
    • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to engineering teams.
    • Remain hands‑on and contribute to the development of critical application components.
    • Evaluate technologies and approaches to improve scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Software Development
    • Design and develop modern web applications using React.js and related front-end technologies.
    • Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using C#/.NET and Java‑based technologies.
    • Develop cloud‑native applications using modern architectural and development patterns.
    • Design solutions that support performance, security, resiliency, and maintainability.
    • Collaborate with product, architecture, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Cloud & DevOps
    • Design and deploy applications within modern cloud environments, including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
    • Implement Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment practices.
    • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
    • Implement containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Promote monitoring, observability, system reliability, and operational excellence.
    • Support automation and continuous improvement across the development and deployment lifecycle.
  • Quality Engineering & Automation
    • Promote shift‑left testing and quality engineering practices throughout development.
    • Develop and maintain automated testing strategies covering UI, API, integration, regression, and performance testing.
    • Partner with QA and engineering teams to improve test coverage and application quality.
    • Integrate automated testing and quality gates into CI/CD workflows.
    • Analyze recurring defects and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration & Delivery
    • Work within an Agile/Scrum development environment.
    • Participate in sprint planning, technical estimation, code reviews, and solution design.
    • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
    • Collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
    • Clearly communicate technical concepts, risks, and recommendations to project and business leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience
    • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
    • 3+ years of experience serving as a Lead Engineer, Technical Lead, Senior Engineer, or Solution Architect.
    • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering complex, enterprise‑scale applications.
    • Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship to software development teams.
    • Strong understanding of modern software architecture and development methodologies.
  • Technical Skills
    • Front-End React.js
    • JavaScript / TypeScript
    • HTML5 / CSS3
    • Experience with modern front‑end frameworks and state management preferred.
    • Back‑End C# / .NET
    • Java / Spring Boot
    • RESTful APIs
    • Microservices architecture
    • Event‑driven architecture and distributed systems
    • Cloud & DevOps
    • Experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or GCP
    • Docker and Kubernetes
    • Infrastructure as Code
    • CI/CD automation
    • Git-based development and deployment workflows
    • Data & Integration
    • Strong experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
    • Experience with messaging and event‑streaming technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or cloud‑based messaging platforms.
    • API integration and API management experience.
    • Test Automation
    • Experience with automated UI and API testing frameworks.
    • Familiarity with tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, NUnit, xUnit, or Postman.
    • Experience with performance and load testing tools is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience modernizing legacy applications or transitioning applications to cloud‑native architectures.
  • Experience with enterprise integration patterns and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of application security and secure software development practices.
  • Experience working in highly regulated or complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic architectural decisions with hands‑on software development.
