Senior Engineer (Platform Engineering)

Role: Platform Engineer - DevOps Locations: Glasgow/Edinburgh (must be willing to travel to client sites throughout the UK on an ad hoc basis) Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance, which requires 5 years’ continuous UK address history at the point of application. There’s loads of scope to get involved and help shape conversations around tech you’re interested in, share your knowledge and experience, and learn from colleagues working in very diverse problem spaces. AI You’ll be expected to responsibly adopt AI‑assisted engineering practices—such as GitHub Copilot, GitLab Duo, and similar tools—for code generation, testing, documentation, and analysis, while understanding model limitations, protecting client data, and improving delivery quality and speed through pragmatic automation You’ll help teams implement pragmatic observability—logging, metrics, and distributed tracing—with actionable alerting, and you’ll contribute to (or lead) incident response and post-incident reviews that drive learning and measurable improvements. Strong experience with the AWS cloud platform and core services.

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (build, deployment, and operational support in production). Proven use of Infrastructure as Code , ideally with AWS CDK . Experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) within Agile/DevOps teams.

Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines , automation, and DevOps best practices.
