Senior Engineer Cloud:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and manage relational and non-relational data stores for observability workloads.
• Optimize database performance, indexing, query plans, and storage efficiency.
• Support data modeling for logs, metrics, traces, events, and platform metadata.
• Implement backup, recovery, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Partner with platform, SRE, and data teams to support ingestion and query performance at scale.
• Monitor database health, capacity, and reliability in production environments.
• Contribute to security, access control, compliance, and operational governance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of database engineering or database administration experience.
• Strong SQL expertise with Postgres in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL platforms such as MongoDB or CosmosDB and Neo4j.
• Experience with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
• Proven ability to support mission-critical systems with high availability requirements.

MANDATORY SKILLS:

• SQL database engineering with Postgres in enterprise environments
• NoSQL database engineering with MongoDB or CosmosDB
• Working experience on Neo4j graph database
• Experience working on Azure and GCP
• Query optimization, indexing, schema design, and performance troubleshooting
• Backup, recovery, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery planning
• Capacity planning, data security, access control, and operational governance
• Support for observability-scale data workloads and production reliability
• Scripting experience using shell-script or Python

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience supporting observability platforms or telemetry data stores.
• Good-to-have experience with Grafana Loki, Mimir, Tempo, and Pyroscope.
• Exposure to cloud-managed databases and hybrid enterprise deployments.
• Experience with automation, infrastructure as code, and operational monitoring.
• Familiarity with data retention, partitioning, archiving, and lifecycle management.
