Position Overview Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy supporting industrial projects across Western Canada. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Burnaby office and play a key role in delivering electrical engineering solutions for mining, LNG, industrial processing, utilities, and energy projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects ranging from brownfield facility upgrades and sustaining capital programs to major greenfield developments.

The successful candidate will remain hands-on technically while working closely with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all phases of project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial power distribution systems and enjoy working in a collaborative consulting environment where they can contribute to projects from concept through commissioning. Further Responsibilities Include the Following Lead electrical engineering scopes on multidisciplinary industrial projects Design and develop low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems Perform electrical engineering calculations, including load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, and equipment sizing studies Prepare and review single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, equipment specifications, and technical reports Perform cable sizing, cable routing, and power distribution design activities Develop specifications and datasheets for switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, motors, and associated electrical equipment Support project execution from conceptual studies and FEED through detailed design and construction support Coordinate electrical engineering deliverables with mechanical, process, piping, civil, structural, and instrumentation disciplines Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews Provide field support during construction, commissioning, and start-up activities Participate in client meetings and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders Ideal Candidate Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering P.Eng. designation in British Columbia, or eligibility for immediate registration 7+ years of consulting engineering experience Strong experience with industrial power distribution systems Experience with cable sizing and cable schedules, low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, MCCs and switchgear, transformers, motor control systems, power system equipment specification and selection, and industrial facility electrical design.
