Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and reliability of power distribution systems for critical energy infrastructure, including pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities.

This is a high-impact engineering role focused on electrical system design, safety, automation, and project execution within the natural gas and energy sector. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA, for ~2 years, with future relocation to Tulsa, OK, or Houston, TX, based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize electrical power distribution systems for industrial energy facilities
  • Lead integration of automation, real-time monitoring, and energy systems improvements
  • Conduct and review arc flash studies, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure electrical safety compliance
  • Develop electrical schematics, system layouts, and specifications for new and existing infrastructure
  • Manage engineering projects from concept through commissioning (FEED/EPC support)
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NEMA, IEEE, API, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions
  • Support procurement of electrical equipment and vendor coordination
  • Oversee or support testing, commissioning, FAT, and startup activities
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technical development across teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited) or Engineering Technology + PE License (preferred)
  • 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in natural gas, oil & gas, data centers, or industrial infrastructure
  • Strong experience in power distribution system design for large-scale facilities
  • Hands-on expertise with high-voltage systems, transformers, generators, and switchgear
  • Experience reviewing and applying arc flash studies and electrical safety standards
  • Proficiency in ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink (or similar tools)
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NEMA, IEEE, and API standards
  • Experience with project engineering or EPC environments preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation systems
  • Background in FEED, Pre-FEED, or EPC project execution
  • Experience in commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical systems
