Senior Director of Software Engineering The Senior Director of Software Engineering provides technology business leadership and vision. The incumbent maintains the single source of consistent information on all IT services delivered to business, ensures and verifies service performance against Service Level Agreements, and oversees and manages a vertical within the IT organization. Responsibilities Manage, coordinate, plan and lead technology-related activities within a single functional IT Service Delivery domain.
Provide leadership and customer support by meeting staffing needs through hiring, training, counseling, evaluating, supervising and managing direct reports. Monitor performance of information technology systems, infrastructure, operations, products, applications and field technicians to determine cost and productivity levels, and make recommendations for improvements. Help define strategy and processes for one or more functional IT areas.
Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs. Oversee a centralized technical support and help desk team for a wide variety of corporate customers and technical assets. Ensure service operations meet and/or exceed stated Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements.
Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers and contractors to ensure quality and cost control requirements are achieved. Define and develop the overall service measurement framework that determines service efficiency. Grow and develop a team of IT professionals in technical proficiency and in service delivery effectiveness.
Guide direct reports and peers in functional job area regarding policies, practices and procedures. Manage team(s) for IT functional area in which they operate (operations, infrastructure, support, clinical apps, etc.). Support and lead associate resource managers and peers.
Manage 6-8 professional and para‑professional level employees across one or multiple teams. Set goals and objectives for operational results. Coach, review and delegate work to team.
Build direct team and influence team members of the functional area. Cultivate opportunities to improve team morale and function wherever possible. Evaluate interactions with cross-functional teams and encourage collaboration.
Ensure consistent delivery for all direct reports, teams and functional areas in sphere of responsibility. Monitor well‑being and needs of team members and act as required to ensure ongoing success. Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Highly developed business acuity and acumen. Solid understanding of the technology applied by the team within functional area and related functional areas. Strong understanding of leadership best practices and company standards.
Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases, data storage systems, and phone systems. Strong critical thinking and decision‑making skills. Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
Firm grasp on information technology and operations best practices. Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and/or computer hardware/software systems. Fundamental knowledge in data center management and data governance.
Hands‑on experience with computer networks, network administration and/or network installation. Mostly self‑directed with minimal to no direct supervision; expect weekly touchpoints with leader. Proven ability to manage personnel through accomplishment of business delivery.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective communication with business stakeholders, managers in other functional areas and directors. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite products and related software.
Willingness to travel locally, regionally and nationwide up to 15% of the time. Spoken and written fluency in English. Education and Experience Criteria BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or a closely related field required; additional experience may be considered in lieu of required education on a year‑for‑year basis.
Master’s degree in a related IT discipline preferred. Minimum of 8 years’ work experience in an IT position with increasing management responsibilities required; prefers experience in a hyper‑growth company with a demonstrated track record of IT accomplishments. Experience designing, engineering, implementing, and operating enterprise infrastructures required.
Experience with information security concepts, tools and best practice preferred. ITIL Foundation or similar certification a plus. Pay Range $198,000 - $282,857 per year (base salary).
Final compensation will depend on experience, education, geographic location and other factors. Position may also be eligible for bonuses or commissions.
