Job Description
\n How you can help make a better world of work\n
Weâre looking for a Senior Director, Financial Control to lead and modernise Culture Ampâs global financial control function. Youâll bring together strong technical accounting expertise, operational leadership, and a systems mindset to ensure our financial operations are accurate, compliant, scalable, and trusted across the business.
\nYouâll set the operating model and roadmap for financial control across reporting and compliance, tax, financial operations, and vendor management and procurement. Youâll also lead the functionâs automation and AI agenda, using better data, clear definitions, and smarter processes to improve how the team operates.
\nThis is a highly visible leadership role. As a member of the Operations Leadership Team and Culture Ampâs broader senior leadership group, youâll work closely with Finance, Strategy, Operations, the Executive Team, the Board, and external auditors. Youâll set direction, make sound decisions, remove barriers, and build a strong team with the capability to deliver long-term impact.
As part of this team of amazing humans,\nYouâll join a global Finance and Operations organisation that helps Culture Amp grow with confidence. Youâll work across multiple areas of financial control, partner with leaders across the business, and help build a more connected, automated, and scalable way of working.
\nIn your initial phase, youâll directly lead the Financial Operations function. This handsâon experience will give you a deep understanding of the operation and position you to lead its broader transformation.
You will\n- \n
- Set the strategy, operating model, roadmap, and priorities for global financial control across reporting and compliance, tax, financial operations, and vendor management and procurement. \n
- Ensure NetSuite and the Cloud Data Warehouse provide consistent, transparent, and trusted financial information across the business. \n
- Lead the financial control automation and AI agenda, including the data foundations, definitions, documentation, and operating rhythms needed to make automation a lasting capability. \n
- Provide senior oversight across record-to-report, statutory reporting, tax, payroll, and vendor management and procurement. Step in on escalations, complex judgement calls, and cross-functional trade-offs while empowering the functional leaders to own delivery. \n
- Represent financial control to the SVP, Executive team, Board, and external auditors, and act as the primary escalation point and trusted partner for the four functional leads. \n
- Lead the North American payroll outsourcing transition from vendor governance through to businessâasâusual handover, with a strong focus on compliance and operational risk. \n
- Partner with Strategic Finance, Strategy and BizOps, Legal, People, and Engineering on finance systems, process design, risk, compliance, reporting, and financial insight. This role does not own forecasting or planning. \n
- Own and evolve financial policies, procedures, and control frameworks so they scale with Culture Ampâs complexity and growth. \n
- Lead, develop, and build succession depth across a team of finance directors and managers, creating a strong and connected team culture. \n
- Support financial due diligence and transaction readiness for M&A activity, including data-room delivery, carveâout or integration accounting, and postâdeal financial control integration. \n
- Champion the use of Culture Ampâs platform and other automation and AI tools in Finance, acting as an internal advocate for Customer Zero practices. \n
- \n
- Significant experience leading a global financial control or controllership function in a fastâgrowing SaaS or technology business, including multiâentity and multiâcurrency environments. \n
- Deep technical accounting and financial reporting expertise, including consolidation and external audit management. \n
- A proven track record in finance transformation, systems modernisation, and process automation, such as ERP transitions, close automation, or RPA, with measurable efficiency gains. \n
- Strong understanding of core finance processes and technologies, ideally gained in a modern, highly automated, and systematised finance environment. \n
- Experience overseeing global tax and payroll compliance, or partnering closely with specialist teams to manage risk. \n
- Experience setting a multiâyear strategy and target operating model for financial control or controllership, not just executing an existing plan. \n
- Demonstrated people leadership through periods of growth and change, including building highâperforming teams and succession depth. \n
- Experience with financial due diligence or M&A, including data-room management, carveâout or integration accounting, and postâdeal control integration, or equivalent transactionâreadiness experience. \n
- Experience operating with full ownership of a finance function, including Boardâand auditâcommitteeâlevel communication. \n
- The ability to move confidently between different finance domains, including reporting, tax, payroll, treasury, vendor management, and procurement, without losing pace or decision quality. \n
- Comfort operating with autonomy and ambiguity, and translating financial and technical concepts for nonâfinance stakeholders. \n
- \n
- A handsâon controller who combines strong accounting judgement with a practical systems and technology mindset. \n
- A clear, confident decisionâmaker who can balance risk, pace, quality, and the needs of different stakeholders. \n
- A visible and present leader who sets direction, unblocks barriers, and invests in people and process capability. \n
- Energised by modernising finance operations and using data, automation, and AI to create better ways of working. \n
- \n
- CA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification. \n
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. \n
- Significant postâqualification experience operating at Director or Senior Director level in a scaled, multiâentity SaaS or technology business. \n
