About GM Dental Laboratory

GM Dental Laboratory is one of the UK's fastest-growing digital dental laboratories, specialising in full-arch implant rehabilitation, digital dentistry and advanced implant prosthetics.

We are investing heavily in digital workflows, photogrammetry, CAD/CAM technology and quality-control systems. We are looking for an exceptional Senior Digital Implant Technician / Head of Full-Arch CAD/CAM to lead our full-arch department and help build one of the highest-quality implant laboratories in the UK.

This is not a standard CAD/CAM role. You will take ownership of our entire digital full-arch workflow, improve quality, reduce remakes and work directly with clinicians and surgeons to deliver outstanding patient outcomes.

The role

You will lead all technical aspects of implant-supported full-arch production, ensuring every restoration meets the highest standards of fit, function and aesthetics.

Key responsibilities

β€’ Lead the digital implant department and manage workflows from scan to delivery

β€’ Design complex implant restorations in Exocad, including All-on-4 and All-on-X cases

β€’ Design monolithic zirconia restorations, PMMA provisional bridges and titanium bar-supported restorations

β€’ Review every complex implant case before production

β€’ Work directly with clinicians and implant surgeons

β€’ Support photogrammetry workflows

β€’ Manage CAD/CAM production, milling and CAM strategies

β€’ Support furnace and sintering protocols

β€’ Develop robust quality-control systems and documentation

β€’ Investigate remake cases and produce root-cause analyses

β€’ Create SOPs, train junior technicians and improve laboratory efficiency

β€’ Reduce turnaround times and support R&D of new digital workflows

Essential experience

You should have strong, hands-on experience with:

β€’ Exocad

β€’ Implant-supported restorations and full-arch rehabilitation

β€’ All-on-4 / All-on-X workflows

β€’ Multi-unit abutments and screw-retained restorations

β€’ Photogrammetry workflows

β€’ PMMA provisionals and monolithic zirconia

β€’ Titanium bar restorations

β€’ Implant libraries

β€’ Digital smile design

β€’ CAD/CAM production and implant prosthetics

β€’ Quality control and remake reduction

Desirable experience

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous: iCam, iMetric, PIC Dental, 3Shape, Meshmixer, Blender for Dental, Exoplan, CoDiagnostiX, 3D printing, SprintRay, Asiga, HyperDent, MillBox, zirconia sintering and implant-planning software.

Leadership and quality ownership

You will lead and mentor the digital team, improve workflow efficiency, develop KPIs, introduce new technologies and maintain the highest production standards.

You will own passive-fit performance, Sheffield-test and one-screw-test success, framework quality, remake reduction, chairside-adjustment reduction, digital workflow optimisation, technician training, QC documentation and continuous improvement.

Success measures

β€’ First-time passive fit of 98% or higher

β€’ Framework remake rate below 2%

β€’ Ceramic remake rate below 2%

β€’ Average turnaround under 10 working days

β€’ Clinician satisfaction above 9.5/10

β€’ 100% QC documentation

β€’ Fewer chairside adjustments and improved production efficiency

β€’ Successful implementation of new workflows

What we offer

β€’ Β£55,000–£70,000 salary, depending on experience

β€’ Performance-related annual bonus

β€’ Modern digital laboratory with state-of-the-art CAD/CAM equipment

β€’ Complex implant cases every day

β€’ Direct collaboration with experienced implant surgeons

β€’ Opportunities to attend advanced implant and digital-dentistry courses

β€’ Company pension

β€’ Paid annual leave and additional leave

β€’ Career progression towards Laboratory Director or Head of Digital Dentistry

About you

You are an experienced digital implant technician who enjoys solving complex technical challenges rather than simply producing cases. You understand full-arch workflows deeply, care about precision and quality, can identify root causes of fit issues, improve systems and mentor others to achieve consistently excellent results.

Screening questions

Please be ready to tell us:

β€’ How many full-arch implant cases (All-on-4/All-on-X) you have personally designed: fewer than 50, 50–200, 200–500 or 500+

β€’ Which CAD software you are proficient in: Exocad, 3Shape, both or other

β€’ Whether you have worked with photogrammetry workflows

β€’ Whether you have investigated and reduced remake rates

β€’ Whether you have managed or trained other dental technicians

Applicants must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
