Title Senior Designer, Materials Location Beaverton, OR Duration 6‑month contract Position Overview We’re looking for an Expert Footwear Materials Designer to combine experience, problem‑solving abilities, and creativity to help create the future of Nike Footwear Materials.

The category you will work in is the Men's Sportswear Classics Expression Footwear. What You Will Work On Design new materials using the latest techniques, curate and elevate existing materials for refresh and collection models. Concept and ideate with your design partners and team, through to finalizing tech packs and working with manufacturing partners to problem‑solve technical issues that may arise.

Who You Will Work With You will partner with the Men’s Expression creative director, Material Design leadership, Color Design, Graphic Design, Digital Design and Marketing & Development teams to bring to life the seasonal creative direction through Footwear Materials design and innovation. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager, Men’s Sportswear Classics Expression Footwear Material Design. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles, Materials, Apparel, or another relevant design field, or a combination of education, experience, and training.

Experience At least 3+ years of relevant design experience exemplifying ability to push material design, and/or relevant experience in Textile Design or Footwear Design. Ability to translate consumer knowledge/insights to narratives and product executions. Ability to create concepts and explore new materials, innovations, and technologies, and ideas.

Experience building inspiration/concept presentations and mood boards for seasonal concepts and direction. Experience building 3D samples and creating mockup samples by hand. Participates in the communication and presentation of design concepts to internal and external audiences.

Collaborate and build interpersonal connections with design and adjacent functions and ability to create and edit files using Adobe programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Ability to participate in multiple seasonal projects with competing resources and deadlines. Understanding the Footwear Product Creation process is a plus.
